Already, there has been a lengthy discussion on the matter of what unit size a Bell/ Furnace would be, but one thing I haven't found yet, is a ruling on what the (generally accepted) size (in models) of the Bell/ Furnace is and while the unit size is a necessary for calculating CR, so are the number of ranks. Now, according to the unclearly written armybook on this matter, we are 'usually' looking at 15 models. Does this mean I have no problem when using an old(er) Screaming Bell that takes up the space of twelve models in a unit, or do I really have to use up that space of 15 models? This is propably one of those things we won't see returning in the (to be expected) FAQ, but is something I feel might come up as one of those things that'll end up as a "yes/no" debate in stores or at tournaments. i have been displacing 15 models when using the old bell - i suppose it would depend on your opponent |

Daniel cannot possibly exist in a dimensional state. Recent studies show that people who have attempted to comprehend Daniel have either disappeared, died spontaneously, or driven themselves into a pertinent state of insanity and/or catatonia. <img src="http://www.heresy-online.net/daemons/adoptables/23041.gif" alt="Broken Adoptable Image" /><br><a href="http://www.heresy-online.net/daemons/levelup/23041-dark-whisper.htm" title="Level up this Daemon!">Level up Adoptable!</a> | |

I would say no. It would depend on the base size of your bell. And how many skaven would fit inside that area. |

Me too. As I have the old old bell I'm glad that it's not too big any more. |

Base size is always an issue, and it really shouldn't be....Why can't the books just list what base everything should be on? Anyway, I have to agree with most of the others and say go with a displacement of fifteen models for accurate rank calculation. 15 bases......so rediculously big. And 60$. eewww |

Unless I'm confused, I think I noticed that the Bell base displacement in the army book is a bit more vague compared to the same rule for the Furnace, which is more specific. This I think caters to the fact that there are now the old and new Bell models and just one Furnace, so the vagueness of the Bell rule accomodates that. At any rate having a smaller Bell base is not really an advantage, most people would I think prefer to max out on the Bell's base so they need less models for their ranks. So I'd say 15 is the biggest you can go, and anything smaller really isn't an issue. |

There are definately greater advantages for having it on a larger base than the smaller one. You'd be hard pressed to find a rational opponent who complained about your screaming belll being too small. Like was said before, you're handicapping yourself by taking up less modelswithin the unit. |

Cheers for the responses so far... I guess it's time to demolish my old modified movement tray I used for the Bell + unit and create a new one. Greetz |
