Hi all,

Just posting this in order to get the community's stories on the funniest/most epic moments of your bloodbowling careers. This can be in either the board game or computer game.

I'll kick thing's off, and both funnily enough involve my rat ogre, GoreFang. This is from the PC game:

1. GoreFang earned himself an honourary last name in a BB match against a Chaos team. In my first turn, GoreFang went up to the opposing Minotaur and (unassisted) KILLED IT OUTRIGHT!!! He now has the last name BeastSlayer.

2. Against a Wood Elf team, I had a Wood Elf thrower nearly cornered in the opposition half of the field, and was bearing down on him with the intention of knocking him down, recovering the dropped ball and scoring. However, the plan was nearly foiled when a Wood Elf catcher ran down the field and the thrower tried to pass. As I was asked to choose a player to attempt an intercept, I looked around and saw that GoreFang was a viable option. Thinking to myself "what the hell, I always fail these actions anyway", I went with GoreFang for the intercept. Amazingly, and the ONLY time ive ever made a successful intercept since, GoreFang put his shovel-sized hand up and snatched the ball out of the air. Whats more, he then failed his Wild Animal roll in my following turn, as if to say "what the hell is this thing!?". I nearly died laughing, imagining the look on this poor Wood Elf player's face when the stupidest lummox on the field managed to catch his expertly thrown ball. Needless to say, when he stopped being a Wild Animal, he walked in a (very confused) touchdown.
You kids these days have it so easy, what with your Plague Furnaces and your Hellpit Abominations and your Bonebreaker Warlords. Back in MY day, all we had was Slaves and Clanrats!...and auto-hit Ratling Guns...and skirmishing Jezzails...and 2D6 Warp Lightning...and Lead From The Back...wait, what was my arguement again?

Most memorable moment? About 15 years ago, playing tabletop BloodBowl 3rd edition... A local store, along with GW Canada, was hosting a tournament and I, for the fun of it, decided to field Halflings...

Needless to say, I lost all my games, yet managed to walk away with a highly coveted award nonetheless. In my second game, against a human team, my runts managed to score a stunning 10 casualties (out of 11 human players!) and snatch the tournament's 'Most Casualties Inflicted' award...

Now I can only wish the PC game will, someday, feature 'lings so my Blueberry Busters can be brought back to life :)

How the hell did halflings cause 10 casualties on a human team!? Ludicrous!!!

Bunny ear says flop

Was that award for blocking casualties, or fouling casualties as well? If the latter was included, ten would not be such a ridiculous number. Halfling teams are well known for their 'fouling tag teams', as with the ST6 of the trees you only need to knock the opposition down and foul the living daylights out of the downed players... in which case, having the possibility to field sixteen players in your team does help.

As for a memorable moment, I've had a match with my Underworld Creepers team (a Skaven and Goblin mix) against a Skaven coach from the league, where things definitely went my way. I obviously won, but the first touchdown came from an unexpected side... for as his Thrower was about to pass the ball to a Gutter Runner, my Warpstone Troll had the chance to intercept. Passing his Really Stupid test (with noone in his tackle zone, so on a roll of 4+) he slowly raised his arm and (yes indeed) caught the ball. Turnover and a few paces later, my Warpstone Troll managed to make the first touchdown of the team. Didn't get MVP for the match (would have been deserved), but the look on the face of my opponent and the fact that he doesn't dare to pass when playing against me was more then worth it. :P
In the final turn of that match, he wanted to make a final push and decided to blitz one of my Underworld Goblins. Three dice, which came up with skull, skull and block/pow. So, gleeing, he said we'd go both down. Even WITH Mighty Blow he didn't went through the armour of my Goblin and I followed up with rolling 11 on the armour roll and 10 on the injury roll. It was only a badly hurt, but an utterly brilliant moment!
