Has anyone had any luck with this thing. I was really excited about it when i first saw the book and had visions of Black Guard being shut down, flanks being off limits to fast cav, and general board control. Since then however the highlight has been making some marauders take the long way around some trees. I had a lowlight however, duds, no wounds and dying before I get to use it. The last is especially frustrating since he would survive if I took 30 of weapons or defense. I will give it a few more tries, let me know if you have had sucess. |

I haven't used it yet, because I don't think it's worth it. It takes up a hero slot, most of that hero's points allowance, and then you have to reveal your assassin. If you take an assassin, he's supposed to stay hidden :ph43r: |

Just thought of possibly good use for it, equip you Asn with the Inf. bomb and smoke bombs. Place that Asn in a clanrat unit, hidden or not. Now move that unit in a location to get charged ( this might only work on RNF troops) and place the Infernal Bomb if hes not hidden. If he is hidden just wait until he is revealed. (in the rules it states, " Can place anywhere along his path during the movement phase or, if in a unit, anywhere along the path that unit has traveled." once that unit gets charged and it breaks from combat activate the smoke bomb. This slows down your opponent and he either stops on or near the Inf bomb, then BOOM. If your unit didn't break from combat then oops you now have a bomb on the table..... As for when it can be placed, if that or wasn't there i would assume he had to place it in the units movement phase, but who's to say he didn't pass it off and said "wait five steps then put this thing down." Ideas? |

That would take up 2 hero slots for a pair of guys who aren't really worth it. 1 assassin ok, but 2 and your army would be less effective magic-wise. |

The two assassins was a joke but without the smoke bombs do you think the trick would be viable? |

The jury is not out. It is overpriced, just like assassins. Although, if you MUST run with a bomb, I like the technique you stated: Fleeing and dropping as you flee (because you can: "anywhere the unit has traveled") right in front of the unit is genius. Use slaves vs. frenzy, then they have to pursue, we have +1 flee racial, and they take the bomb hits + the slave fleeing hits. But again, I don't think it's really worth it, it's a pricey combo that could go very wrong. MUTATE: And yes I know things go wrong for Skaven, but this just seems like you're asking for it. And for too high a price. |

You could put him in a unit of Gutter Runners, and give their champ the smoke bombs... |

If you can drop as you flee it is decent for poping a chariot, as it is str 10 in the center. I really like the idea of this thing and am trying not to give up on it. |

you cant use items that require activation while fleeing so ypu have to drop it during your own turn while fleeing, and wait another turn to rally. |

It would be ugly to watch people poking sticks at a caged rat. It is uglier still to watch rats poking sticks at a caged person. 13th spell casts: 2 Kills: 32 Grave Guard,1 Vampire Lord | |

i use it by running up to the side of a big unit and detonating it in there turn simple and effective very good for empire swordsmen or big clan rat unit pushing bell. also good with frenzy units (plague ferniced monks are a good one) place bomb, let them charge you flee thay should be on the bomb if you did it right hopefully you rally then boom big damage on the furnice and takes a few monks with it
