Question concerning Gamesday

Ok so GW announced that there will only be one Gamesday in the US, Baltimore. BOO hiss....anyway. I'm wondering if we could post a petition to get Gamesday next year BACK to the cities they once frequented.

Would this be acceptable?

What I would like to do is get a signiture list from the members on this site and post on other Warhammer "ARMY" affiliated sites (40k too) so as to next year we won't get hosed next year.

Thanks,

Seriously, I think it's a waste of time. It's already planned, and they aren't going to change anything because of an online petition. They are retooling the whole thing next year (presumably) and Baltimore is a pilot. I can imagine that they will expand to other cities again in the future, but only if they can predict a benefit for the company (either directly profitable as an event or indirectly as a promotion.)

So anything that you might want to get done is just a waste of time? Such as your vote doesn't count? Give up, don't try and just sit around and HOPE or MOPE because something doesn't happen the way you would like it to?

Man I am really sick of apathy!

I know that GD is not going to happen this year. Last years excuse as for no GD in LA was there was some "stores" opening during that month and they didn't want to take anything away from those stores opening up! Ummmm..

Yea GW is really tooling this as a "huge event" in Baltimore. I really just don't see their logic as to why they are crawling back to one event. As a Pilot event how many more are going to be able to show up to that ONE event? Two years ago LA had a huge turnout and sold a huge amount of merchandise. How do you increase more interest in your hobby by limiting the exposure?

I'm not asking for a miracle, I'm just asking for a voice to be heard.

Thanks

Unless you are a shareholder, your vote does not count. You can vote with your dollars, but I don't know if lowered sales in the L.A. area would inspire the return of Games Day or have the opposite effect.

Apathy is not the issue. I just don't see the point of raging impotently against the idea that you are somehow getting "hosed" by GW hosting only one Games Day next year. I say buy a ticket and go to Baltimore. Give GW some feedback on what you liked / didn't like about the retooled Games Day, and encourage them to bring what you liked about it to L.A. in the future.

I truthfully cannot think of a single issue that has been affected by an online petition.

Particularly in the world of Games Workshop - they honestly do no care about customers anymore. You can pretty much mark the fall of caring for customers by tracking White Dwarf. We went from great articles, new rules, letters from the reader, and generally good content that focused on improving the game for the readers. Now it's ad for new product, new product break down, obviously staged battle report, Jervis's nonsensical ramblings, another ad for another new product.

Writing petitions, calling people, none of it matters to Games Workshop. They are focused ENTIRELY on numbers(and they are a business so to some degree it is the nature of the beast). The only thing Games Workshop cares about and will listen to is money. If you can find a way to heavily influence the dollar bills in the region they might listen to you. Otherwise they simply will not.
