It does seem to me that GW cares only enough about its consumers and employees to keep a bare minimum standard. However, I think we can all agree that the company owns an incredibly absorbing and richly detailed game system. Especially for a fluff fanatic like myself. I hate to see a company which produces a game I love treat its employees like dirt, but name one other international company that doesn't. Either way, I never have bought any of my models directly from GW because they are gougers for price. You pay for the "prestige" of buying from GW and that is bull. I am sorry for the predicament you were put into warpstone, and I wish you luck in sorting things out. |

Not too draw this too far off topic but 5th Edition 40k is fantastic. Its hands down the best balanced core rule book to date. |

So, GW's changing things quickly based on feedback and seeing how people use the rules makes them terrible people, but PP's slower changes based on feedback (much closer to GW just 12 years ago) makes them super heroes. Remember that GW is an old giant. Where PP is now, GW was at it's beginning. The only quick change GW has done recently was from 4-5 in 40k, mainly due to player feedback on it. 3rd edition was around for several years before GW wanted to update it. Fantasy has continued as slow as ever. Gee I dunno, but maybe it's just easy for people to bash a company with a longer record than it is to bash one with a shorter record. I still find it pointless to bash a company on sites like this. "Damn that Hershey's company, they're terrible people! But I just can't stop eating their candy!" |

got a point with last sentence Ratemis, however we do support this hobby and it would be nice if GW would take our opinion in account. Unfortunately approach of GW towards us can be best described with a direct quatation fro ma local GW managed " People coming here belong to two categories- customers and hobbyists. I only care about customers". Nuff said? |

seems fair to me, they *are* a business that depends on it's customers to keep it running. Doesn't matter how many people in the hobby they have, if they aren't getting money from them, they can't support their games and miniature production - or their stores. |

Sounds like your expecting a dog to quack. It's a large company, and while it doesn't do much to discourage the use of their products without buying more, it still has to make it's profit margins. So things like studio support for products that don't sell well get cut. Fan made materials that would bypass the need for their books get removed. GW is incredibly upfront about this, and don't really try to hide anything about this type of behavior. However, they do try to support things before realizing that they're losing a considerable amount of money doing it. They aren't some entirely heartless company, and they do make the attempt to support the hobbyists and people who play the game. In a way they're just about the only company I actually trust when they say they're doing something for such and such reason, because they're incredibly frank to the point of being detrimental. Not that it means that I'm particularly happy about it when they do these things. |
