both the BRB and the errata to the BRB are not clear in this case. for a character to have magic armor, the BRB tells us he has to be able to wear armor, that is quite clar. my question is: if a character can wear only light armor can he have a magic armor wich has the tag "counts as heavy armor"?
i've been talking this through with some players and the opinions are divided, army builder fails at helping aswell.
my take on teh matter is that as long as he can wear [armor] and/or [shield] he can have any type of magic armor or shield
It would be ugly to watch people poking sticks at a caged rat. It is uglier still to watch rats poking sticks at a caged person.

I think you are right. If a character can wear armour (even light armour) then he/she can wear any kind of magical armour, too [though not necessarily a shield].

The "counts as heavy armour" in the description of magical suits of armour means that it confers a 5+ save (as opposed to a 4+ or 6+).

Im inclined to agree with wolf.

If you can wear 1 type of mundane armour, you can wear ALL types of armour. If this werent the case, how could people wear a suit of armour that conferred, say, a 4+ save unless they had access to plate armour?

ZOMG! Worlds Edge Armour is useless!!! The skaven book is teh brokenzzz!!!!
You kids these days have it so easy, what with your Plague Furnaces and your Hellpit Abominations and your Bonebreaker Warlords. Back in MY day, all we had was Slaves and Clanrats!...and auto-hit Ratling Guns...and skirmishing Jezzails...and 2D6 Warp Lightning...and Lead From The Back...wait, what was my arguement again?

totally agree. lizardmen have access to magic heavy armor, but can only buy regular light armor. if we're wrong than there are quite a few items in the lizardmen army book that you are incapable of taking.
The best way to configure an army is to go play demons.-Nevamore Posted on Nov 6 2009, 04:02 PM

I think you should change this to "quite a few items" period.

I also agree.

I don't mind when I accidentally kill my own.  They were probably asking for it anyway.
