In the Zzzzap! section of the doomwheels rules on pg 67 of the armybook it states Roll for each bolt separately, measuring from the DWs base. What are we rolling for? What are we measuring for? The S of all the bolts is clearly explained to be the number rolled on a certain die in the next paragraph. After reading the entry several times I am starting to think that we have to roll to restrain from shooting each bolt, but i have no idea what we are measuring other than the range of the bolts which anyone with a armybook should know. Did they really have to state that we measure from the base? I guess after reading my post again that maybe they did have to clarify where to measure from as some unscrupulous players may scratch build massive lightning projectors that protrude from the model over the base and into an opponents deployment zone (a bit excessive but you get the point) and start measuring from the end of the projectors instead of the base. any help would be appreciated. |

You roll to wound for bolt 1. Then if situations have changed (ie. bolt 1 killed it's target) you might have to re-measure. Whatever the target is, you roll to wound for bolt 2 and repeat the process again for bolt 3. Useful (or dangerous? such a fine line Skryre treads) for if you fry a monster on the first bolt, then the other two can go off to kill the next nearest thing. |

I agree with Pestilent Lord. They state 'measure anywhere on the base' as an enemy could be closest to you measuring from the front of the base. If you kill this enemy and have bolts left, you do not measure the range of the next bolt from the same spot, but from the closest part of the Doomwheel base to the closest unit. So you may be measuring from the back to the next closest unit, in this case. I would assume it is there to provide clear rules. For once. |
