One of my mates has just began to collect Orcs and Goblins. And his army is gonna be based around Grimgor Ironhide, planning ahead to when he gets 2000 points, how do i beat Grimgor? Has anyone played against Grimgor with Skaven before? Thanks |

Grimgor is quite a threatening beast. He will demolish you in close combat. Fortunately for my style of play that's no issue because I never intended to engage a combat beast's unit head on. I'd probably start with a barrage of magic and poison wind mortars and follow that up with poison wind globadiers and finish it up with Doomwheels. When facing a Grimgor army, Grimgor's unit is the key to the whole army. Knock out the keystone and a bridge falls down. |

If I recall, he costs around 375 points. a unit of slaves costs 40. he can only kill one unit per turn, so in a 6 turn game that shouldn't be a problem. Magic and shooting works too, maybe even the better option. |

Huh? Jezzails won't be able to shoot Grimgor. He'll be comfortable embedded in his unit of ItP Black Orcs. Also - I'm not sure how you expect an assassin to kill Grim. He's got a great armor save, a decent ward save and in the vent he survives, your assassin in DEAD. A good ward save only goes so far before the mountain of high strength attacks kills you. Attempting to handle Grimgor in combat is just a poor idea. Feeding him Skaven Slaves will probably result in Grimgor being able to make great inroads against your battle lines. The weakness of a Grimgor is shooting, they just don't have the capacity to absorb a lot of shooting. |
