As all non-Skaven related gaming discussions are listed in this forum, I thought I might as well throw in something we see rarely, which is Epic Armageddon. A couple of weeks ago, I managed to get my hands on approximately 2000 points of Orks, which ended up as an arrangement for a trade in March. (That meant the circle was complete, as I now own a force of Orks for Aeronautica Imperialis, Battlefleet Gothic, Epic Armageddon and GorkaMorka). The guy I purchased them from is someone I meet from time to time on a games convention that's held four times a year... We have once done a demonstration game of Epic for a Dutch gaming community there, and I have fallen head over heels in love with the mechanics behind the game. The back-and-forth initiative system really forces you to plan your moves, cause a game can actually be finished within a single turn. So, based on what I bought (which are 6 character stands, 4 nob stands, 24 ork boy stands, 8 gretchin stands, 4 stormboy stands, 4 kommando stands, 5 warbike stands, 8 gunwagons and apparently a demolisher) and with a little bit of tweaking and proxying, I came on the following force list: Gargant w. warlord Big Warband (12 Ork Boyz, 4 Ork Nobz, 4 Gretchin) Big Warband (12 Ork Boys, 4 Ork Nobz, 4 Gretchin) Big Blitz Brigade (1 Oddboy w. Gunwagon, 8 Gunwagons, 4 Flakwagons, 5 Warbikes) Total: 1950 pts (consisting of four formations/ fifty-nine units) Taking the Mob rule into account (5+ stands give +1 on rally attempts, 10+ stands give +2 on rally attempts), I thought this to be a reasonable list. However, I have never played a game with them, so should there be ANYONE on the UE that is somehow familiar with them, I would very much appreciate any feedback. ![]() Greetz |

Yep I have a 6k Epic Orc army. They are very good and reliable. the one problem you have is the small number of formations in your army. due to the way Epic works you will find that your opponent will activate a few pointless units and then he will have complete control of the turn after your units have moved. I would suggest breaking your blitz brigade down into some smaller objective capturing units. They will lose a lot of there hitting power, but you have a Gargant for that. |

*grins*... Aside from the Orks, I also have approximately 3k in Imperial Guard, whom have an awful lot of dirt-cheap formations to choose from. Of course, I decided to go for an armour-heavy list on that one, but I do get the point you're trying to make. Would splitting up the Big Blitz Brigade into two Blitz Brigades of 1 Oddboy w. Gunwagon, 1 Flakwagon, 4 Gunwagons and 2 Warbikes each suffice? It gives me two formations of eight units each... That would take my force to 1990 points with five formations in total. Greetz |

Yeah should help.. 5 is not bad for 2k and Gargants are brilliant Objective takers they are almost impossible to move. I have a GT Nurgle Guard army, 6k of Orks, 3k+ of Mortifactor Spacemarines, 3k+ of Iyanden Eldar and a small LatD army |
