i just got back from a game day and took queek in his elite SV unit. the battle was a loss for me but thats not the point right now. queeks unit is 12 points per model with shield WS5 S4 SV. granted thats a lot of points going to a unit thats like 400 points with weapon team and command. i am still trying to find my sweet spot with the new book. i think pestilence is the best option but i digress. i like that they are strength 5 with halberds on WS5 but for the points alone i can get 2 units of clan rats. this is a little off post but this is the list i just ran. something like... queek cheiftan-BSB, standard of the horned rat, sheild engineer- doom rocket plague preist- furnace, shadow magnet, portants of doom, flail 30 clanrats- MCS, warpfire thrower 29 elite SV- MCS, sheild, storm banner, warpfire thrower (29 because of points) 20 slaves 20 slaves 35 plaugemonks- MCS, plague banner (i think thats the name) 6 cencers 6 cencers abomination-spikes doomwheel like i said a little off post. but the SV can hit hard as rat ogres for cheaper than a rat ogre witha better WS. they hit better than cencers in subsiquent rounds of combat. but i am WAY short on rats. i barely out numbered. (and the damn chaos lord on a dragon killed qweek before he could do anything. the armor got a wound in though.) so what do you think? way more rats, less strength or good on strength just drop other things to fill in more rats? |

I don't think that the problem is Queek's vermin. Or at least, it's not just queek's vermin. I think your problem is that you've got about 6 expensive units (Abomination, Doomwheel, Queek's Stormvermin and all 3 Pestilens units), not to mention the Furnace. If you decreased the Plague Monk unit and dumped the Doomwheel or maybe drop the Abomination you could quickly scratch up enough points to up your rat-count. |

I agree with Lord, your PM unit is too large. With the furnace inside it effectively acts like a 50 model unit...whoa. And this is just me, but skaven armies should have around 200 models at least and right now you have not quite 170. If you drop 10 PMs you have enough points to pick up 3 more slave units or a slave unit and a large giant rat unit. Something to look into...especially with the doomwheel on one side giant rats would be a great flanker from the other direction. |

Hmmm a tough one. If you dropped 10 monks you'd have enough points for 3 giant rat packs (about 16 models), good for flanking. Or 1 unit of slaves and 1 GR. Would 25 monks be too little? Queek is a hefty amount of points, can you do without him or is your army based around him? |

Not with the Furnace in there. Thanks to that thing it's effectively a 40 model unit. |

I think 27 is the sweet spot, gives a nice looking unit that is 7x6. |
