I hope this is in the right place.

I've been reading through posts like crazy mostly around army lists, suggestions, and comments. What is everyone's obsession with dispel scrolls? Don't mean to sounds so front but are they really needed that much to sink points into? I've never had a problem playing magic heavy lists with my warlord list. theres just to much to kill from my side of the board and the three or four dispel dice go very far. I take an eng, in my normal list no MR and have had little problem. I only ask this next question because it seems every post i read someone is suggesting to drop a unit or a hero just for a scroll caddy.

So peoples thoughts on this have you or would you play a game against a magic heavy list without dispel scrolls? How would play or what have you done if you have done this. Also what would you drop in your normal lists just to have a scroll caddy?
Looking for the Limited Edition Skaven Standard Bearer. PM if you know where i can get one.

I'm sure part of this is a meta difference. In my meta the average army right now is carrying 8 to 10 Power Dice. 3 to 4 dispel dice just doesn't hold the line against that. Also Scrolls provide you with one extremely important bonus and that is GUARANTEED shutdown. There are certain spells that you simple do not want doing off, Curse of the Horned Rat for example, and the only way to make d**n sure you stop that spell is to use a scroll. I don't want to trust dice rolling to stop Vaul's Unmaking for example. Scrolls are an important part of magic defense. There are also certain armies that its important to be able to stop a key spell at a key time like Vampire Counts.

More grey every day.
They are just risk mitigation points spent. Sometimes you just want to make sure that unit of 5 PCB's is around to charge next turn instead of risking it on dice.
So old. So so old.
