During a game I played yesterday te randomizing between Packmasters and Rat Ogres. The book says while randomizing a 1-4 hits a Giant Rat (Notice that there is absolutely NO mention of Rat Ogres) and a 5-6 hits a Packmaster. Now... My opponent and myself both agreed that it should have meant Rat Ogres as well and played according to it, but do you think a rules lawyer could take advantage of this?? Grtz. Kiev |

If he is particularly anal or stupid, maybe he could rules lawyer on this. Let's be honest though, is your average rules lawyer going to say 'okay, my shots hit that Giant Rat unit on the other side of the board, not the significantly more valuable Rat Ogre that's right there'? If someone were REALLY looking to argue it, I suppose that's what the rule says, but anybody with even a scrap of common sense will realize that the way the rules read it's impossible to shoot one of the biggest creatures a Skaven army can field, which was clearly not the intention. Writers must have copy/pasted the rules for Giant Rat randomization and then forgot to edit for the difference. |
