Having read alot of lists on UE im noticing that RO's arent a popular choice with Skaven players.. why is this? This is out of pure curiosity mind, and Im trying to debate whether I should include a unit within my list |

The problem that I have with Rat Ogres is that they don't compare to all the other Ogre size units that other armies may take. Ogre Bulls, for instance, are cheaper, come with armor, and can be upgraded with weapons. AND get bull charge. This is also true of Chaos and Dragon Ogres. Trolls are more effective since they get regeneration. There just isn't anything special about rat ogres. That's my opinion, at least. Mutate: I'd also like to point out that Frenzy is truly a double edged sword, and units like Rat Ogres can very easily be redirected. Their main tactic as flankers plus Frenzy means they are very susceptible to counter-flankers. |

I love Rat Ogres for the sheer contrast to huge blocks of rats. Sure, they are the missile magnets and mostly flee if they lose combat, but they are so much fun to paint and field! For the points difference, Ogre Bulls have lower strength and initiative. Plus, Rat Ogre units get cool Packmaster / Master Moulder options. |

I'm going to try running a unit. Most likely will just be there to make it harder for my opponent to decide what to shoot down if i'm running a doomwheel and an abomination. |

i have always used a unit of 4 rat ogres - they have to be delt with by your opponent as they can cause a lot of damage.... |

Daniel cannot possibly exist in a dimensional state. Recent studies show that people who have attempted to comprehend Daniel have either disappeared, died spontaneously, or driven themselves into a pertinent state of insanity and/or catatonia. <img src="http://www.heresy-online.net/daemons/adoptables/23041.gif" alt="Broken Adoptable Image" /><br><a href="http://www.heresy-online.net/daemons/levelup/23041-dark-whisper.htm" title="Level up this Daemon!">Level up Adoptable!</a> | |

I'm considering running units of just one RO and one PM (or one upgraded RO and a Master Moulder) and putting a few of these between my units of clanrats/slaves so that they can be aimed and will effectively have blinders keeping them pointing where I want them to go. Preferably into an enemy flank so that I can get some actual kills on top of the standard static combat res. At between 48 and 88 points (maybe a bit more if I buy the MM some equipment), these will be at least as effective as, and a lot more survivable than most weapons teams (excepting WFT's in the new book). What do people think of this tactic? |

I used a 4 Ogre unit in the previous book, and I'm wondering how they'll preform now that they have Master Molders and Frenzy. Currently I'm going to try Skweel Gnawtooth with some giant rats, but I'm unsure if I should try him with Ogres, as that will make Ogres from a large target, to a massive target. I used Ogres as a fast flank unit that the opponent had to deal with so my shooting could kill them. Now that Storm Banner is around, I want to try to become less reliant on shooting, so I don't want Ogres to be the 'shoot me unit' as much as I want it to be a bruiser unit. |
