you say that if he's gonna be like that, then it IS Queek Jokes aside, what you see is what you get is a rule used in tounoments to speed them up because no one has to ask "What does that model have again?". I say that there should be no need for it in friendly games. Anyway, from the way he sounds i don't know why your playing them anyway. |

Just say 1 of the weapons is the magic weapon, and the other is a hand weapon. You don't get the bonus for the extra hand weapon, but it can't do any harm showing it on the model seeing as he has it in his profile. |

does your friend play 40k? 40k has a much stricter wysiwyg structure than fantasy. the only wysiwyg rule for fantasy is on pg 54 and boils down to it can't be misleading. but keep in mind all models carry a hand weapon, so your warlord would have two weapons on him, just say the one in his right hand is the blade of corruption and the one in his left is his hand weapon which he uses as a shield (you're buying him a shield right?) |

??? No offense but you should tell your friend that kind of nonsense has no place in a friendly game. Or... you should agree to his terms provided that he purchase an acceptable model for you that fulfills his criteria. There's nothing in the rules or any of the army codexes that says your individual models must bear an exact resemblance to what is depicted in your army list. As others have stated, those are the kinds of niggling rules one finds in tournaments. |

I pretty much only game in tournaments, and I haven't seen one instance of wysiwyg being required, complained about, or enforced in any of them. We just explain what models have what, or are what and keep playing. So many players in our area have such well converted armies (Mad Max themed Orcs, Monty Python Holy Grail Brets/WoC, Werewolf Ogres, etc.) that wysiwyg would ruin their options and limit their customizations. --Cap |

Insist that his caster minis have the correct number of scrolls modelled on them to WYSIWIG his dispel scrolls. If he has bought wizard level upgrades, ask that he specify exactly how the difference has been modelled. If he plays Dwarfs, insist that he specify which rune on each weapon does what. Just whack him on the head with a bag of 5th ed. Screaming Bells for being such a doofus and go play a friendly game. |

there was a story i heard somewhere, probably on warseer. it was empire vs wood elves empire goes first and he starts to move his stank and his opponent argues he can't since the wheels were glued in place. he eventually concedes to just get on with the game. wood elf turn and he points out that his units can't shoot because their bows aren't modeled with strings. melee wood elf vs motionless steam tank battle of ridiculousness ensues. |

I love seeing a good amack down. The bmack down is better, though. Back onto topic, do whatever you like. As long as the model you have is a good representation of the character, it should be fine. There is no way you can truly get a WYSIWYG model without going through and crafting every possible variation of their equipment choices. |
