Just a couple of thoughts on Assassins and Eshin's lack of presence in the army in general. How about a couple Assassin teams, representing trainee Assassins working in pairs hired by other clans. Each one takes a single special slot per team. Eshin Assassin Team - 120 points. M6 WS5 BS4 S4 T3 W1 I6 A2 LD6 Weapons Two poison hand weapons Upgrades Both Assassins may be equipped with a pair of Weeping Blades for +30 points. and smoke bombs and +20 points. Special Rules Surprise! Assassin teams are a pair of Eshin Assassins that hide in units, waiting for their chance to strike against choice enemy targets. They begin the game hidden in any unit of Clanrats, Stormvermin, Plague Monks, Night Runners, Gutter Runners or Giant Rats (they hide as Packmasters until their chance to strike) once the unit is combat both Assassins are placed in the front rank, displacing two models already there. If the front rank is full of characters or command then move these models to the second rank, models not in base to base contact cannot fight but any other bonuses still apply. On the turn they are revealed both of the Assassins have the Always Strike First rule though on subsequent rounds they lose this. Their senses and agility are not yet trained to the height of full Assassins. Martial Rats Assassin teams are trained to work in pairs, attacking and feinting in perfect unison to off-balance their opponents, forcing him to fight a wall of poisoned blades. To represent this whenever both Assassins focus all of their attacks onto a single model, that model must re-roll all hits for that round of combat. This doesn't work on models with a US of 4 or more, they're too big and surly to be off-put by fancy footwork. Dodge 5+ ward save. Eshin Sniper Team - 100 points Assassin M6 WS4 BS5 S4 T3 W1 I6 A1 LD6 Weapons Poisoned Hand Weapon, Eshin Warplock Rifle. Gutter Runner has hand weapon and snare net. Upgrades The team may be equipped with smoke bombs at a cost of +20 points for the team. Unseen killer The Sniper team consists of the Assassin shooter and a Gutter Runner spotter. These are not deployed at the beginning of the game but instead after all other models, including scouts and infiltrators have up note down one piece of terrain on the battlefield that is not occupied by any enemy This is where the team has setup and will not be revealed until it has fired it's first shot. If no such terrain is available the team may set up as a normal unit or it may join a unit of Jezzails and act simply as a a normal Jezzail unit member but using the Eshin rifle rules instead. When the team fires, place the Gutter Runner anywhere within the terrain piece. The shooter may use his line of sight for the shot, using all normal rules. After this the Gutter Runner may move as per normal rules, but may never leave the terrain piece. This does not count as moving for the purposes of shooting the rifle. The enemy may charge the Gutter Runner in which case the team can either stand and shoot or flee. If they flee they are not caught the team is removed from the game but do not count as destroyed for the purposes of victory points. They keep running, they are paid to take their shots not to engage the enemy up close. A stand and shoot reaction means the Assassin is placed and combat takes place as normal after the shot is resolved. Eshin Warplock Rifle The Eshin Rifle is a modified Jezzail, each one is made with as much care as a Skaven can give to weapon and the ammunition is a more refined version of the slugs used in a regular Jezzail. It fires as a Jezzail but ignores modifiers for cover and may pick any target he sees including a champion/character from a unit but suffers a -1 to hit penalty if using this ability, a 'look out sir' roll may not be taken against these shots and may pick a different target to a unit it may be joined with. As the ammunition used is less... temperamental than that of a normal Jezzail, it only does 1 wound per shot but has the Killing Blow ability and the 'Unstable' rule works differently. Instead of the shot being resolved on the user, the enemy may pick a single Skaven model using all the targeting described above and resolve the hit against this model. The Assassin has obviously been given different orders from the Eshin leaders or a higher bidder has given him a target to be taken out. |

Very nice rules! ![]() Only 1 small change I might suggest, and that is to give both the assassin team and sniper team the option for smoke bombs at 20pts for the team. Other than that, excellent ![]() -Danielle |
