I don't think they'll change the beast herds, they're pretty new models. I would expect plastic minotaurs, centigors and bestigors and possibly a plastic chariot kit aswell. Can't wait to see what they do with the army list now that GW seem intent on all Chaos armies having completely unique units and Warriors getting all the monsters from Beasts. Plenty of new units ahoy!

The Beastmen are the original inhabitants of the Old World? This is a new tact, though I can't say if it is a bad one or not. And a new lore. Looks like they are trying to define the Beastmen as something now, rather than just a random collection of mutants and monsters. Hopefully the are a little bit more inspired than they were with the Warriors of Chaos and Daemons books, and we just don't get variations on the same three troop types. |

probably see plastic bestigors, given the trend so far. I would think plastic chaos trolls, but I doubt it will happen. Dragon ogres deserve new models though/ |

I Am The Monster

i vaguely remember reading somewhere, think it was sixth edition high elves, or maybe a lizardmen book, that when the olds ones came there were 'primitive creatures', that roamed the old world. maybe they were talking about elves and dwarves. i know men didn't come along until the daemons did their thing, but i think beastmen were among the first inhabitants of the old world. |

except for the minotaurs, I'd say the same. I would expect the minotaurs, ogres, and trolls to stay metal. I'm also hoping they redo the dragon ogres. @clanlord Trask: "The Beastmen are the original inhabitants of the Old World?" I think, in the case of dragon ogres and Shaggoths, this is actually true with the current book. The REST of the beastmen however... not so much. I may be wrong on that. |

nope. elves and dwarves are both 'younger races' than the Old Ones, Slaans or even Lizardmen. Dragon Ogres and Shaggoths are both listed as being very old, even by Warhammer world standards. Shaggoths are speculated to pre-date even the Old Ones. So there's certainly at least some Beasts of Chaos that precede men. Perhaps more importantly though, the Beasts of Chaos were first made when man was still effectively in the Stone Age. One (at least one not of the Emprie) could argue that they have an equal claim on the Old World, seeing as Man had not even approached forming nations when the Beasts began ravaging the Old World. So, original inhabitants... not exactly, but they do seem to have a claim on the Old World which could be re-claimed.

Plastic bestigors, minotaurs, and apparently split boxes between gors and ungors. Some rumour mongers are fairly disappointed in the new models, there's a new character/monster/thingy that looks like Pumba from The Lion King... |

I'd be expecting no ogres to be in this list. Possibly no trolls either. From what i've read in GW's emails it says it's out with the old in with the new and is going to be very focused on them becoming their own army |
