Been a lurker for some time now since I decided to start warhammer and skaven as a first race. I have the book and will be getting the rest at the end of the month! But, I have been playing around with trying to make a 500 point list by reading all the advice on the forum and I have come up with two lists. Please give some pointers/tactics/etc. so I can get off with a good start ![]() List 1 30 Clanrats with shield, musician, banner - 147p 25 Clanrats with shield, musician, banner - 124,5p 1 ratling gun or doomflayer (have to playtest) - 55p 21 Slaves with musician - 44p 21 Slaves with musician - 44p 1 Warlock Engineer, level 1 wizard, warp-energy condenser - 85p Total: 499,5p List 2 25 Clanrats with shield, musician, banner - 124,5p 25 Clanrats with shield, musician, banner - 124,5p 1 ratling gun or doomflayer (have to playtest) - 55p 20 Slaves with musician - 42p 1 Warlock Engineer, level 1 wizard, warp-energy condenser - 85p 15 giant rats - 45p 3 packmasters - 24p Total: 500p Options: - Not making the engineer a wizard, but bring optics, warpmusket and doomrocket to make him a nice sniper. Also frees 5 points in list 2 to add 1 more slave and 1 more rat. - In list 1 I could drop some clanrats to add champions. Question: Would I add the engineer to a unit of clanrats or is it save for him to run around on his own? Cause the clannies dont have a champion atm and if the warlock flees to the backranks in case of a challenge, can he still unleash his warplightning??? |

Looks pretty decent with the unit choices, but I dont think your character is a good choice. If you want a mage you should take the plague priest (he is killy and casty) or stick to a chieftan if you want a cheaper option. Leaving your general on his own is always a bad idea. The general in a skaven army is mainly taken to boost the leadership of nearby units, having the warlock off in a forest somewhere will significantly reduce the armys effectiveness. |

if you refuse a challange then at the end of the combat you move back to the front of the unit so you can still cast (need to check if this is at the turn of combat you refused or when the whole thing is done and dusted). magic wise the energy condenser will give you an extra dice which as a level 1 you cant use as you already have 2 for existing and 1 that the engineer creates and he can use a max of 2 so you are paying those extra points for +2 to the number of hits done with warp lightning which probably doesnt justify the cost. i would suggest at least 1 scroll or maybe even making the engineer a level 2... if you made both units of clan rats 25 then you should have enough pts for the condenser as you could then use the extra dice generated. |

Daniel cannot possibly exist in a dimensional state. Recent studies show that people who have attempted to comprehend Daniel have either disappeared, died spontaneously, or driven themselves into a pertinent state of insanity and/or catatonia. <img src="http://www.heresy-online.net/daemons/adoptables/23041.gif" alt="Broken Adoptable Image" /><br><a href="http://www.heresy-online.net/daemons/levelup/23041-dark-whisper.htm" title="Level up this Daemon!">Level up Adoptable!</a> | |
