So, after a year of playing Dwarfs and Orcs & Goblins, I decided to pick up the Skaven because they have always seemed like an interesting army. So, I was skimming through a lot of army lists, and most of them have at least 2 units of 30 Slaves, I was wondering, if I don't field any Slaves, is it really that detrimental to the army? |

Shennanigans are out of the question!

Given that even our "Elite" Close Combat blocks are pretty sad in comparison with most other armies' regular troops, slaves give you the ability to cheaply dictate the positioning of your enemy. That allows you to meet them in combat on your terms, which pretty much necessary if you are to win games in the close combat phase. I'm not sure about the units of 30, though. I, personally, would rather have 3 units of 20 than 2 units of 30. |

So basically he's a big ole fat bastard who thinks giving you a scorching case of the herp is a big laugh." ---Kadrium 7th Edition Fellblade Kills: 1 Steam Tank, 1 Warrior Priest, 4 Greatswords, 3 Treekin, 1 Chaos Sorcerer, 5 Chaos Warriors, 13th Spell Kills: 8 Chaos Chosen. | |

Ah, I see. Yeah, I can see how their low point cost block would be pretty effective at march blocking and what have you with out too big of a hit in point loss. |

cheese.......

include them in units of 21 with a muscian. Most people don't initially realise how good they. They are used as a screen and to bait enemies into charge range of other units. Also as ive found you can bait people into getting pretty close to a warpfire thrower. |
