What are you guys using for Doomflayers? I'm tempted to use a Dwarf Death Roller from Blood Bowl for a base but not sure where to go from there...

Ideas please! :P

MUTATE: Yay, I'm a clanrat! No more slavery for me!

I'm fairly tempted to use Hellpit style Wolf-Rats in my army as counts-as Doomflayers.

I will just be turning my three Ratling Guns into Doomflayers by adding blades like a rotor blade to the front of them. Just about does it for what I imagine them to be.

In my Moulder army I'm tempted to use the Mordheim Mechanical Rat Ogre as Doom Flayers.

Partly cut-paste from another topic:

HEY? We just got a model for that! The Deathmaster Batrat. Put him on a cavalry base and add 2-3 giantrats carrying pavises, to provide the armoursaves. :P

Sorry, I just don't like that new Snikch model. :ph43r:

MUTATED: A goblin chariot pushed by slaves instead of pulled by wolves. Add a rotating gizmo with attatched blades and...........slice-time Dev

I've LOTS of spear arms from assembling the old clanrats, so I'l going to be working on some sort of hell-pit beasty for that! Probably a packmaster character on the back, and a hideous many-armed mutant on the front.

Well all you really need to add to that is alot of spear-points left over from random projects and a rat on top instead of that stupid dwarf.

But I was thinking something along the line of an oversized push-along lawnmower. Just not sure what to use as a base.

Going off the pic in the book I was thinking maybe just GSing a big ball and sticking some shields and spears on it :P

Too bad the doomwheel is so big else you could potentially rob pieces from it

I like that goblin wolf chariot idea, but the base size might be an issue. Don't have my book handy but I am pretty sure it says something about all of the weapon teams being on cavalry bases.

More Moulder than Skryre, but I've made a go at it... Apologies for the lighting and odd angles but here it is:

This is slightly going off-topic, but I came across these gutterrunner tunnellers some guy posted on dakka and they're a great idea for warpgrinders:

Scroll down a little on the thread.

Ratling gun team with the barrel sawn off and replaced with a giant drill. He said he used ork and ratogre parts for the drill. I'm also thinking that if I can't get a proper drill bitz an alternative might be those wallboard anchors or self-drilling anchors from a hardware store.

Also, I hope the good man doesn't mind us looting his ideas, but he must hang around this forum because that Ikit Claw warlord idea is surely Rattsu's, and that handgunner jezzail looks just like the one I made 2 years ago... :P

People have been converting the Doomflayer for years, in the guise of the Stunty Shredder. GW created rules for this little "mad invention" some time ago.

At this early stage of release, it may be in your interest to search for conversion tips for the Stunty Shredder rather than the Doomflayer. For example, this chap.

As an aside, as soon as I heard about the Doomflayer I immediately remembered 'the cleaners' scene from The Labyrinth. If you're interested for potential inspiration, here is a youtube link (from about 1:50 onwards, specifically).
“Stop! You in there; your money or your life!”
“Sir, you perhaps leave me with fewer options than you realise”

A free tip for all professional and aspiring highwaymen: do not attempt to hold up a Vampire’s Black Coach.
