i tried to leap my engineer back but my opponent kept scrolling skitterleap - i couldn't believe it.

your engineer would be stuck there of at least 1 enemy turn, my idea was to skitterleap him around their lines march blocking
Daniel cannot possibly exist in a dimensional state.

Recent studies show that people who have attempted to comprehend Daniel have either disappeared, died spontaneously, or driven themselves into a pertinent state of insanity and/or catatonia.

On the bright side, you did manage to force an opponent to waste a scroll on a 5+ spell. That's almost as awesome as getting Dispel Scrolls thrown at Bound Spells. :)

Hey guys, I'm a wee bit confused on the rocket's implementation. Yeah, I just got the rules but only read through it once. The Doom rocket's rules gave me pause, perhaps I'm reading too much into it. Say an enemy unit is 15" away but you toss 4 dice and get the max possible range of 24". Does this result in a direct hit with the center of the large template placed on the point of impact or... is it an overshoot that lands behind the unit and explodes harmlessly on the ground?!?

Basically does the Doom rocket behave like an explosive cannon ball (minus the bounce) or a 'lobbed' round like that shot from a mortar.

I don't quite understand the last question, as both cannons and mortars are able to overshoot if your guess is too high.

And yes, the doomrocket can overshoot. You point the direction you want and roll. The impact occurs at the full distance rolled. Why wouldn't it overshoot? You'd just toss the maximum number of dice and hope for a high enough roll if it didn't...

On another note: I am considering using the rocket instead of a death globe on the engineer in a unit of globadiers. If he is at a distance of 12-15 inches, 4 dice should hit quite often and have no big chance of a misfire.

Yea I would. The more people catch on to the rockets potential it will become a staple in most skaven armies.

Thanks for pointing that out, I totally overlooked the obvious. Things are a lot clearer when you're not worrying about Doom rockets while wrestling with schedules and reports on your screen at work...

Anyway as ColdBlood666 stated the potential for this is enormous. Just imagine Skitterleaping an intrepid Warlock to the flank of your opponent's battle line and letting loose with the Doom Rocket. With a nice long battle line and, if you're lucky, closely packed units it's sure to hit something and raise a ruckus. Nasty stuff.

What do we call this maneuver? SkitterRocketing? Skitterleap 'O Doom? Special Delivery DoomCheese?

Sound like a combination of the skitterleaping deathglobe warlock and the warplightning cannon down the flank tactics. ^_^ But yeah, that's more likely to hit something.
