I was looking at the warpmusket and I think im going to have a level 1 warlock sit back in terrain with warlock optics and a warpmusket and take pot shots at the enemy army. I dont know why but it sounds like alot of fun. I think a warlock with that build would be good at scaring off or wounding or even killing pesky flyers or fast cavalry trying to lure out plague monks or the furnace or any other frenzied troops for that matter. Not to mention he would add a dispel dice to the army and maybe get off a spell here and there. What do you think? |

Well it would be a terrible waste of a character slot. I mean plague priests are on par with vampires now, they are close combat monsters that generate power/dispel dice. Assassins aren't too shabby either. I think the only straight up caster worth taking is a seer on a bell or the Vermin Lord. I don't see much use for the regular engineers unless you just don't have the points left to field a proper character. |

Thats true but in my 2250pt list my characters already include a vermin lord, plague priest on pox rat, and plague priest on furnace. I really like the Ikit Claw model so I was determined to find a use for him lol. Maybe ill try the warlock out a game or two and if he doesnt cut it then ill drop him and add another priest or something else entirely. |

I am toying with the idea of having an engineer join a unit of PWGs. He gets a condenser and death globes. Some protection, some punch and still 360° vision. Combined with a seer on bell and a priest in a unikt of PCBs that gives me three casters with 360° vision. Thoughts? |

interesting option but you would need to ensure there are a fair few models to protect your characters from randomized shots..... as if there are less than 5 rank and file models in a unit you randomize if there is a character in there. |

Recent studies show that people who have attempted to comprehend Daniel have either disappeared, died spontaneously, or driven themselves into a pertinent state of insanity and/or catatonia. <img src="http://www.heresy-online.net/daemons/adoptables/23041.gif" alt="Broken Adoptable Image" /><br><a href="http://www.heresy-online.net/daemons/levelup/23041-dark-whisper.htm" title="Level up this Daemon!">Level up Adoptable!</a> | |

Sure, but PWGs are dirt cheap for what they do. A unit of 8 or so is still in the below 100 range and can really hurt tough enemies (especially combined with the engineers death globes). If you want to go to town, add in a champ with death globes, so you can throw 2 of those per turn. That'll teach 'em to ignore the humble PWGs!

Unfortunatly it's only one turn of the game, as death globes are a one use only item |

Guys, do not discount the Doomrocket on a warlock. That thing has won me so many games at this point, its not funny. As long as you only throw 4-5 dice that thing will rarely misfire and you can decimate entire units with it. In my opinion its far more reliable and effective than a deathglobe and against high intiative armies with low toughness like Highelves and darkelves, it chews up their blocks of infantry better than a brass orb. I eliminated an entire unit of 20 blackgaurd with this puppy. My warlock engineers have eanred me back so many more points than my plague preists have that I am thinking of taking two and using the second one to sniper characters that try to run from the carange on their infantry blocks. |

DOOMROCKET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! C57Black is right the doomrocket rocks... For 45pts you can have an engineer terrorist, no matter what something is gonna die... I only played 1 game and that was the first item I took... I used it against a unit of 23orcs and I killed 15 of them... |

Yea seriously the doomrocket is overlooked. After I reread the rules for it today I discovered that it is ridiculous and has insane carnage capability and if you keep your rolls to a minimum it will very rarely misfire. Just make sure your warlock is not shooting it from inside a big infantry unit because if you misfire and roll a 1...Alot of rats are going to die. Also if you roll 4d6 the average distance is going to be 12 inches. So just try to skitterleap your warlock behind enemy blocks and let your rocket fly. If your warlock dies the next turn after obliterating a entire regiment of enemy troops. So what.

i killed 11 high elf spearmen + the champion and wounded both characters in the unit with the doom rocket - i think the warlock paid for himself with that one.... also the high elf player diverted a chariot to take care of the warlock what a bonus!! |

Hehehe skitterleaping a warlock with doomrocket conjures images of rocket jumping in a few old FPS games. Ideally you should at least give him a pistol or musket so he can still be a harassment unit behind enemy lines, see the marksman build in my tactics article. |
