I hear you, reddog. That sort of mentality... I've known a guy who would can interpret the same rule a dozen different ways depending on what was best for him, and he did this with Risk, pool, just about every game we played. <_<

@Tenno: some of the posts just above yours actually do attempt to distinguish powergamers from cheesers. Did you read those? I think they actually do agree with you to a degree. A gamer who plays to win is normal, but a gamer who wants easy wins without having to try (or who whine or rule-lawyer to get their way) are the ones who peeve us.

yeah i know i may have gone a bit over the top there (WOW has given me a short fuse for people on forums its strange not having every post trolled :P) im just sick of reading this same thing on every warhammer forum and i just wanted to have my opinion out there for once

What with so many power gamers using 'Steggie Stomps, DE Monster Mashes, Undead Death Stars, or daemons in general'..... why not make the cheesiest list you can to compete in tournament play. If you have a group for friendly competition.... make up some scenerios for the guys and run with it. House rules for a campaign or what not, have some fun. I do not feel that the Skaven book is uber filthy as far as creating the ultimate tournament army configuration, everything has its upside & downside - as skaven should.

I think that a good real general should find that winning battles with less effort is actually better than winning them through tactics cunning and suffering. And even better if you loose little to none troops. But hey! That’s only real life, this is a game, it’s fun what we are talking about.

I think I am also a power gamer, I like to win and if I can annihilate my opponent, then the better, I agree with ===Me=== that I will not insult my opponent underestimating him (or her) playing with a hand tied to my back. I will bring full force and try to win every scrap of the board.

But, again, this is all about having fun and that cannot be sentenced in ‘Cheese armies are bad’ or anything; the proof is that there are people actually playing them. As for the fluff, I think I could write a story of how my army have ended up with two behemoth rats and no more Mouler rats. I mean, come on, I wrote a story of how a paladin of Tzeench ended up in the Under Empire...

The idea I wanted to say is that people play this game for very different reasons, and you don’t have to play against people you don’t like or a game that’s seems is not going to be fun for you, but despise people for copying a good reliable army list for the propose of winning is far a good attitude (IMHO).

Man! This game resembles magic is sooo many ways...
We rode on the winds of the rising storm,
we ran to the sounds of the thunder.
We danced among the lightning bolts
and tore the world asunder...
