first off welcome to the tunnels, I'll give you some general advice but as I have not played the 7th ed book yet (ive simple been too busy), I dont know how accurate I will be in my suggestions, so i will just point out the obvious. First off I've been playing skaven for about three years now, I have a fairly good record except against these newer armies that are beyond my control, example, my brothers dark elves. Your cheiftan bsb is incorrect, you cannot field him with a doom rocket and I really see no need for the portents of verminous horde magical item. As a skaven player one objective is to win by basic combat resolution, use your bsb to boost combat res if you are going to use him, I recommend a war banner. A death globe is a risky thing to use, and often yields little result, I would not recommend this magic item. if you run giant rats, run them in ranks, 2 units of five wont hit as hard try and get at least two ranks to benefit from the special rule "wave of rats". slaves 30 strong is a little unnecessary, I am running mine at only 20 strong with no upgrades at all, they simply bulk my army and can bait just as easily as thirty. Also upgrading slaves with anything other than slings is pointless, and even slings will rarely do anything unless fighting a giant, then you get 40 shots. add more clanrats, you should run at least 30 in a unit, I was running 36 in 6th edition but im thinking of dropping it back down to thirty, play them 5 models wide and 6 deep and you will have to extra ranks the opponent has to go through before removing ld. I dont really see anything that will hit hard, see if you can fit the points for another unit of pcbs. I am also unsure of how well the cannon works now, it used to be great, unless it got charged, but now I think the small template is not enough to do any real damage and it still has the same capability of blowing up, as it so often did. jezzails are amazing if you have the models for them keep them. Im also not sure about globadiers I havent looked in to them too deeply but I find they wont work too well in this list. also I havent tried the doomwheel but im sure it will work very well, impact hits seem to be huge now for skaven, the hellpit abomination is incredibly good (from what i hear and have read) I really see no reason why people are not taking it, ive only seen it in a few lists so far, maybe im looking in the wrong place. oh and maybe replace the weapon teams with doomflayers, I feel like they would do a lot more and it seems like you have enough shooting (magic and non magic) as is. cheers, tdet |

Thank you very much for the feedback, im really glad to get it!! I see one misstake i did when i wrote the orginal army, i forgot to write a Furnace at one of my priests haha, but now its written and i have made some other changes here too. Yes i see your point about hardhitting, but i have so hard to remove some of my specials, but now with Furnace maybe i have something more heavy hitting. otherwise just make more Cbearers? Because now i have 69 points left, or shall i totally remake it at have a Hellpit? Or exchange it with the Furnace? And one Giantrat unit i just have to hunt scouts and so. Please help me again, thanks:) Gray seer skalm, rival hide, Wtoken, Wtoken, priest dispell scroll, scrying stone, furnace warpstorm scroll, battle standard, warbanner shield 30 clanrats stn, mus + mortar 30 clanrats stn, mus+ doom flayer 30 slaves 30 slaves 30 slaves 10 rats + 2packmaster 5 rats+ packmaster 25 monks full command 7 globadiers 7 cencer 4 jezzails+sharpshooter team 150 doom wheel 2181P |

try and fit points for another unit of censer bearers, them being stubborn with a furnace adds to their already grossness. give a plague monk unit the storm banner and you wont have to worry about anything shooting your pcbs, if you have a dispel scroll or two you wont have to worry about anything migicing them. the pcbs will prlly hit the hardest out of anything in the book, just keep them alive until they get into combat and they should be able to shred elite infantry without thinking twice. And drop the slaves down to 20 haha, with the points you might be able to get some more giant rats on the unit of 5. consider dropping the globes for another unit of pcbs, if at all possible. I also want to know what you plan to do with the grey seer, because I dont know how it will fare off of a bell. try out the seer a few times, consider dropping it later for a warlord and a 'lock and with the points you will be able to fit in the other pcbs easily. I am already convinced that it is too many points, from my own attempts to make an army, to fit in a doom wheel, a furnace, and a hellpit abomination, so forget about the abomination. ps take two units of thirty and make three units of 20 slaves, see if you can find the points for 10 more and make another 2 units of 20 and youll be able to bulk out your army alot more, slaves are great tools for baiting and harassing. |

Once again, a big thank you, it helps me very much:) Just a quick answer before i do any more changes in the list. You know i have played high elves mostly, and aslo wood elves, and both are pritty combat oriented (also ok magic), and movement in WE-case. So what i want is to use some nasty magic and shooting. So thats the big reason for gray seer and even the Globardies. But maybe a gray seer is not as good as he can be because of the bell, maybe i should change it and remove Furnac for it? And i see your points about Censerbearers, even more now when i remove the Furnac. I really see the points about slaves, i like it. What do you say? Thanks! |

if you want to go with more shooty oriented then maybe add another unit of jezzails, I like to think of them as the pcbs of the shooting world, they munch nearly anything you target them at. If you take out the furnace then also consider taking out the pcbs, I would almost recommend adding a bell instead of the furnace for the purpose of what you want to try. Though I have no personal experience with a bell, (I never used it in 6th ed. it was simply too many points and I still may not in 7th ed because its not really my style) I think it would be a very versatile option. Consider replacing monks with storm vermin, or throwing in another clanrat unit to caddy the bell, along with weapon teams, plague mortar seems interesting, and I think the warpfire has gotten a lot better. But it might not be a bad idea to add a few doom flayers as they will assist in combat. My army list is very formal tournament style, I rarely played around even in 6th ed. and this army has not changed a whole lot from my 6th ed. army so i dont know a whole lot about shooting in terms of a skaven gunline, but possibly consider a couple lvl 1 warlocks instead of the plague priest, the priest is excellent in combat, and if you want to go more shooty id recommend locks more and for the price of 2 lvl ones you are paying about the same as one priest, just default both to warplightning and blow up ranks before you get into combat. I'm going to refer you to Kariko's skaven tactic post, it is currently in the works but you will be able to find builds of characters how to use units etc. you can find it here . Good luck with the army, I think thats all I can say just about, I might calculate some points later on today or tomorrow for you and make better suggestions but im a bit lazy to do that right now haha. Cheers, tdet |
