Clanrat
|
OK, I finally got my new army book along with a box of stormvermin and I've come up with my first list, hope you like it. Warlord Warp-forged blade, enchanted shield, warpmusket, rat hound bodyguard, war litter [2+ armour save, 1+ in CC, I picked the warpmusket rather than the pistol because I have a model for one ad the stormvermin kit has no pistol] 2x 30 clanrats, full command, spears and shields [Here's the core of my army, it's going to get expensive] 3x 20 skavenslaves, musician [Smaller units so when they blow up, I won't lose as many 3 slave bombs altogether, I have 60 so I can mix and match the new clanrat boxes] 26 stormvermin, full command, shields, Storm banner [Altogether it ends up looking like 30 because the warlord's war litter takes up 4 spaces, the annoying bit is I either have to find 6 individual stormvermin or buy a whole box and have 14 spare] 29 plague monks, full command [Will go with my plague priest] Plague Priest lvl 2, plague censer, 2 dispel scrolls [I was going to put him on a plague furnace but it's quite expensive (in both ways) and everyone's going to have one (which is the reason I don't have an abomination)] 5 warplock jezzails [Cos they're cool and are great against armour] 3 rat ogres, 1 packmaster [I would have more than 1 packmaster but there's some mad new rule saying no more than 1 packmaster per 2 rat ogres (except if you only have 1 rat ogre), I was going to have 4 rat ogres and 2 packmasters but I really wanted the points for other things] Doomwheel [From the moment I saw this beast, I had to have one] 5 Poisoned wind globadiers, Bombadier, Poisoned wing mortar [This is another anti-armour unit, and they look cool, and I felt I needed a weapon team in there somewhere] Warlock Engineer lvl 1, warplock pistol, warlock augmented weapon [More magic basically] Well there it is, weighing in at 194 models, my new army list Thoughts? Comments?

Looks like a good list tbh, 1 tiny thing, its gona be a 2+ save all the time, u dont get hnd wep/sheild bonus when mounted (litter) only for on foot.

Doomwheel Fanatic

Sounds reasonable but lacks anti magic. Should really have a few scrolls.

As WarpFodder said, you won't get the extra +1 save since you're mounted. I don't see much point to the pet rat (1 S3 attack is not that great) or musket (you want to keep moving). Since the whole unit dishes out S4 attacks, he should give you more oomph. The Warlock-Augmented Weapon, Blade of Nuglitch, Weeping Blade, or a simple Sword of Might might be more useful. Also, a ward save or some kind of protection beyond armor never hurts.
No weapon teams? I'd suggest Doom Flayers since you have the Storm Banner.
I wouldn't bother with musicians.
A weapon team never hurts. You could use spare clanrats to fill in the back ranks.
Might I suggest the Banner of the Under Empire or Dripping Banner, boosts their killing power quite nicely. I think 28 works just fine, or even 21. They kill stuff, ranks aren't as important.
Mean, I like him. Don't hate on the Furnace, you know you want one.
Another unit would be nice.
Rat Ogres are pretty meh, Doom Flayers are better.
Samesies.
I don't find much use for PWGs since they're special, I much prefer Gutter Runners for their utility. Clanrats can field the Mortar instead.
He isn't built for combat, though he could do some damage if you tossed in the Warpstone Armor. I'd just go for a level 2 with the Condenser and a Doom Rocket.
I think the concept is pretty good. A fighty Warlord and Stormvermin can do some damage, but I think you are neglecting your support elements. Some cheap flankers and skirmishers would help you immensely. Giant Rats and Gutter Runners are awesome for so cheap. |
