I must have magic dice, because I have managed to get the 13th Spell off in about 3 of the 5 games I've played with the new book. Just threw 4 dice and managed to get double 6's quite a bit. In two of those successful casts it worked spectacularly, sadly in the third game the Dark elf player was using the Ring of Hotek and it caused me to blow my Grey seer up. Just telling you now I doubt you will get this spell off ever against DE using the Ring or Lizardmen using becalming agitation. |

Against the ring it isn't possible to cast the 13th spell without miscating with a double - 1+2+3+4+5+6 is the best you can hope for, and just doesn't add up to enough

Another catch to it is that it affects a 'single infantry unit' i.e. not cavalry or big nasties. I'll probably take it as a situational spell depending on my opponent. If i'm fighting against a britonian I can probably afford to give it a miss ![]() Later! 'Sticks |

i cast it against a high elf player (on 2d6 - don't ask, i was on a roll), his first response was to scroll it - i then found out i was out of range. i will definitely be including someone who can take it due to the high number of daemon players - it is probably our best way to get rid of the plague bearer bunker or even the grave guard bunker... |

Daniel cannot possibly exist in a dimensional state. Recent studies show that people who have attempted to comprehend Daniel have either disappeared, died spontaneously, or driven themselves into a pertinent state of insanity and/or catatonia. <img src="http://www.heresy-online.net/daemons/adoptables/23041.gif" alt="Broken Adoptable Image" /><br><a href="http://www.heresy-online.net/daemons/levelup/23041-dark-whisper.htm" title="Level up this Daemon!">Level up Adoptable!</a> | |

Doing some mathhammer rolling 5 die I got: 25% chance to cast with irresistible force 00.3% to cast normaly 28% to miscast 46% to just not cast So: 25% succeed 74% fail 1% rounding error Add in extra dice and your chances can go way up. And the Ring of Hotek will shut it down, so don't cast near it.
You could only get irresistible force how could he scroll it? |

I see the spell as a major solution to impossible infantry, for example... Flamers, Chosen, Plague Bearers, maybe some Ogres and saurus. my question is do I have to roll a 15 or a 21 on 4 dice to completely destroy a unit of 12 skinks 3 kroxigor? |

The spell effects 4d6 models, so a 15 would be needed, since it never says anything about wounds. |

The spell only works on infantry, so it's useless against the Ogre army, which is primarily ranked monster units (unless you really want to turn Gnoblars into clanrats :P) I'm not sure it would even work on Skink-Kroxigor Units, on account of the Kroxigors being monsters mixed with an infantry unit. If it did I'd have to assume you'd end up killing all the skinks and leave the Kroxigors wondering where their little buddies all died. |

Hm...actually I would doubt that...since the main rule book states ogres as infantry under "Types of Units", together with trolls, humans and goblins. |

With any luck I'll give this spell a go tomorrow night against a VC player. I'm playing for a laugh and I'd love to see his face if I 7 diced it using a power stone and nailed his bunker unit with all 4 of his vampires in it. |

Ogres, trolls, minotaurs, kroxigors and even dragon ogres indeed are just infantry, so can be targeted. |

Really? huh! Well in that case I guess you'd just roll the Kroxigors separate from the Skinks. |

I actually got it cast at my opponents Vampire Lord. I laughed for about 5 minutes imagining how his leader just got transformed into a measly Clanrat, which I let his zombies kill XD. Oh the irony! Guess that teaches people to never ever let their characters walk around alone. Grtz. Kiev |

he was alone??? you could have killed him with warp lightening... i have another question... it says you can equip the unit as normally with command and equipment and everything... does this mean you can choose for the clanrat unit to show up with spears and shields... that would be pretty funny... lol. also what about victory points... do your opponents get them for killing this unit.

Holy Warpstone, You raise an excellent point Reddog. how are victory points done up for this new unit? Say I transfrom a unit of 15 balckgaurd into 15 clanrats and those clan rats get killed by a unit of spearmen next turn, Do I get victory points for 15 Blackgaurd? Does my opponent get victory points for 15 clanrats? WHATS THE DEAL!?? |
