Well, I first turned around and didn't want any part of mordheim because lizardmen didn't exist, but people on other forums were going to tournaments at their shops with them, which led me to ask the question- where were they getting the rules? For some reason they were allowed to use unnoficial rules from a website (i think it's mordheimmer or something like that) But anyways, how do you go about finding players for this rare game? And more importantly, do you think they'd be ok playing the unoficial list? And more, is it worth taking shields? I know normal armour is considered a bad thing, but still? |

You are refering to these? They are unfinalised warbands that were provided in supplements, but aren't fully tested to be tournament-worthy and aren't in the official rulebook. You won't be able to play these in tournaments unless the organisers make exceptions, but you should be able to play them with casual gamers who aren't stick-in-the-muds. Shields... vinz is best to debate that one. I prefer bucklers, but wouldn't know if lizzies can use 'em.To find players... walk around your local store and gaming centres with this picture pinned to your chest.

You got it, that's the site! Sadly, lizardmen can't get bucklers, so I was thinking of just taking unused skinks and converting them to have bows

I never take shields. ![]() I actually introduced the game to my community... you can use normal Warhammer models, and the rules are very similar, so it isn't a huge switch. Just ask people totry it, and they should be hooked! (I was - I think it's infinitely superior to Warhammer).Make sure you have lots of terrain though. It's more fun that way. ![]() Pillz |

Sounds like I'm going to have to learn how to make terrain!! And my favourite skink priest (whose on foot model I never use <_< ) will be able (and have to) lead my expeditions into enemy territories-even though the magic for him is really wierd also, walking around with the mordheim symbol on my shirt in the middle of a mall seems more like a "Kick me" sign Mordheim seems really interesting though, as you can see I really like RPG's...and stealthiness, commando missions, and above all ninja's! (anyone seen naruto? , yeah i know it's wierd) |

As far as the official rules, I had to turn to ebay. Now I just have to find some people locally willing to play. |

Wafflebob, you do know Games Workshop got the PDF rules on their website, right? *moves thread to Mordheim forum*... @UnderTheEarth: Due to the ease with which models gain advances and are able to boost their strength, armour is something that doesn't really serve any benefit. So, armour is a no go. Taking two handweapons >>>> shields. In Mordheim quantity of attacks ALWAYS beats quality of attacks. Greetz |

This was a good 5-6 years ago when I ordered the book. I don't believe they had the rules available on their website at the time. If they did I shall be a bit upset, I spent a great deal of time searching for them before I broke down and bought the book. |

The site Mordheimer is the best source for supplements and unofficial rules. The official rules are on the GW site. Unofficial lists are fine, as long as everyone (or the GM) agrees with the particular list. I've found shields really suck, and I think you can play Mordheim Online, I certainly can. It's outlandish, and involves using a battle reporter to show positions, but it would be easy for us to play through my method. -Killfang |

The rules for Lizardmen was in the Town Cryer magazine. Those are available for download on Tom's Boring Mordheim Forum. I've played quite a lot against Lizardmen, and they're alright when it comes to the power level. I've mostly used Beastmen against them. |

You guys have piqued my interest here, I think I'll dig up my rulebook. I hope the original book from the initial release is still valid. Maybe I'll go download the GW PDf and have a look...MZ |

@mrtn: They came from the Lustria - Cities of Gold campaign, which you can find as a legal download on the internet as well. Greetz |

You are misreading my post. There is a Lizardmen warband list from the Lustria: Cities of Gold campaign, that has been posted online by a gaming group from the States. Games Workshop adopted this as unofficial, yet supported, rules for the Lizards and (re-)posted them on their website. Unfortunately, that one got taken offline and they are yet to repost all their PDFs, but at the moment they're visible at the Tactical Wargames Specialist Games hub, as a legal download... I thought I'd written that down pretty obviously there. Greetz |
