The Morkreekian Slavers

"The hottest new team to hit the Blood Bowl world! Lead by their Coach, Vosnaardiskikk, they have risen to fame throughout the Underempire, and through Clan Morkreek's sponsorship, have become fabulously wealthy as well. How did they do it? Well, in this stunning documentary, we shall find out!"

OOC: Welcome, comrats, to Morkskittar's Blood Bowl blog! ^_^ He has finally gotten his act together and will be playing Blood owl regularly for at least another month - trying to go a game a day against my brothers (only opponents :P). every day, I will try to update you with the latest game and atributes that my team has gained... we are already two games in... and I am not doing well, hence me being down a number. :P I will try to keep the format of a documentary the same. :P

"But first, let us introduce you to the starting team!"

1: Slippi, Gutter Runner Extraordinaire, is number one on the team. He originally joined with his two triplet brothers, Sneeki and Streeki. the three of them were an unstoppable team, until Streeki caught an Orc in the head and died. Fast and able to leap great distances, Slippi is almost the mirror image of his (now) twin brother. He is the youngest of the group of three.
SKILLS: Dodge, Leap | MVP: 1 | SPP: 13

2: Sneeki, Gutter Runner, is Slippi's identical twin brother. Older than both Streeki and Slippi by about five minutes, he will never let his remaining brother forget it! He made his living through thievery until Clan Eshin found him. Shortly thereafter, he was invited to join the Slavers, and so he did! He also has the ability to leap great distances.
SKILLS: Dodge, Leap | MVP: 0 | SPP: 10

3: Formerly Streeki, middle of the brothers, now empty.

4: Chainik Burrower, Blitzer Extraordinaire! The heavy armoured Stormvermin was pulled from the ranks of Clan Morkreek to join the team. He's loved the idea of chainsaws since he was young, and wishes he culd get a hand on one...
SKILLS: Block | MVP: 0 | SPP: 3

5: Chaikan, Blitzer. Silent and enigmatic, it is rumoured that Chaikan was taught in Cathay by Clan Eshin, and is an Eshin spy within Clan Morkreek's ranks, disguised as a Stormvermin. Chaikan responds to such accusations with throwing stars.
SKILLS: Block | MVP: 0 | SPP: 0

6: Furri, the Solo Thrower! The only skilled thrower on the team, Furri earned his name through his massive amounts of fur! He was originally a hireling Poisoned Wind Globadier, and his ability to throw the fragile globes was noticed early on, and he was recruited quickly!
SKILLS: Pass, Sure Hands | MVP: 0 | SPP: 0

7: Nikodimos, Linerat Extraordinaire! This mystical Skaven claims to be able to predict the future, and is fond of shouting out prophecies as he plays the game, distracting opponents.
SKILLS: None | MVP: 0 | SPP: 3

8: Ratspootin, Linerat! Formerly a holy monk of the Horned One, he preached a strange variation of the Skaven religion, which approached the ideals of Slaanesh, encouraging all types of sexual activities (use your imagination here). He is also a mystic who exhibits strange powers, and is rumored to hold sway over the Slavelord of Clan Morkreek due to his healing powers over some favorite guard of his, who is sick with some rare disease. He joined the team to hide from the Inquisition.
SKILLS: None | MVP: 1 | SPP: 5

9: Kornelios, Linerat. Kornelios was chosen by lottery to join the team from among the teeming ranks of the Clan, and is happy that he was chosen.
SKILLS: None | MVP: 0 | SPP: 0

10: Rattler, Linerat. His true name is unknown, but he earned his current one by the strange ratling sound he can make with his mouth, which unnerves opponents greatly.
SKILLS: None | MVP: 0 | SPP: 0

11: Rattstein, Linerat. He had the brilliant idea of starting a musical group in the Underempire. Once they gave their first concert, entitled Ratteleid, angry listeners burned down the auditorium and killed the rest of the band. Rattstein fled to Clan Morkreek, where he was thrown on the Blood Bowl team.
SKILLS: None | MVP: 0 | SPP: 0

12: Rattenheimer, Linerat! Rattenheimer can see only out of one eye, and runs crookedly because of this. He is an old, doddering Skaven, let onto the team because of some favor the Slavelord owed him. He had always wanted to be a Blood Bowl star, and now has got his wish...
SKILLS: None | MVP: 0 | SPP: 0

"And of course, don't forget the coach!"

Vosnaardiskikk was born in the depths of Skavenblight. He had six brothers, all named Vosnaardiskikk, five of whom died. Vosnaardiskikk and his last remaining brother, Vosnaardiskikk, barely scraped a life out in the massive city. However, in a game of Street Blood Bowl, Coach Vosnaardiskikk's brother was spotted by a rat searching for Skaven to join the Underempire Supersonics, and was recruited. Jealous of his brother's success on the (very successful) team, Vosnaardiskikk started his own team, initially called the Goatskin Drunkards. The team was surprisingly successful (this does not mean much), and was soon 'acquired' by Clan Morkreek as a way to bring additional revenue into the Clan.

The team was then renamed the Morkreekian Slavers. After a few successful years, the team is entering abrutal, three-way league with two other teams: the Wood Elven Loreni Reavers, and the Orcish Waaaaagh!

"Wish them the best of luck!"

"And in the most recent game against the Waaaaagh!, the Slavers came out on top, despite some horrific incompetence on the part of the players! It was fine weather, and yet several Skaven who tried to Go For It slipped, multiple hand-offs failed, and many Gutter Runners were knocked down. However, a miracle occurred in the last few minutes, when the Slavers were still up by one against the Orcs, when a long bomb made by the prophesying Kornelios was caught by Slippi, who made the final touchdown. In fact, Slippi made every single touchdown for the Slavers, and his speed has only increased, as he now Sprints, earning Sneeki's jealousy.

"In a surprising turnaround, Chainik Burrower actually inflicted a niggling injury upon one of the Orc players, Prom (:P), while the Orcs inflicted no lasting harm. Additionally, MVP Furri, the thrower, has become more accurate in his passing.

"Lastly, the fans love the Slavers and the amount of fans who attend games is expected to rise by at least 10,000!"

SCORE: 3 - 1 VICTORY

1: Slippi, Gutter Runner
SKILLS: Dodge, Leap, Sprint | MVP: 1 | SPP: 22

6: Furri, Thrower
SKILLS: Pass, Sure Hands, Accurate | MVP: 1 | SPP: 6

7: Nikodimos, Linerat
SKILLS: None | MVP: 0 | SPP: 3

8: Ratspootin, Linerat

OOC: An interesting game. I had abysmal luck the first half (2 GFI's failed, 2 ball-pick-ups failed, 1 hand-off failed, every single kick-off result in my opponent's favor) and we each got a touchdown. Second half, I got two, despite the continuing luck. I succeeded when my thrower made an amazing long bomb from across most of the field to Slippi, who shot towards the endzone and made the last touchdown. And I did more damage to the Orcs than they did to me! :D A first!

"A stunning and very brutal game was played earlier today, between the Morkreekian Slavers and the Loreni Reavers. The final score was 6-1 in the Slavers' favour, with the Reavers having only one player left on the field by the end of the match - and the Slavers only 6! The Slavers, being rated lower than the Reavers, enlisted the help of a wizard, who's well-timed fireball took two players out of action at the end of the first half.

"Chaikan really showed his colors, inflicting three casualties, and Chainik and Kornelios were behind him, with one each. Sneeki, Slippi's brother, scored four touchdowns, and the Linerat Rattstein scored two. Sneeki has developed a more Sprinting style, and Chaikan's blows have become mightier. Chainik also has developed the skill of piling on.

"The Slavers scored a touchdown every few minutes, while the Reavers dropped like flies. The Wood Elves only touchdown was when their last remaining player went for it, dodging countless Skaven, and miraculously made it to the endzone in the last five seconds. That'll teach those Slavers to get cocky.

"Five of the Reavers were reported dead by the end of the match. The Slavers were lucky, having only two brave rats die.

"Rattenheimer, the old doddering rat who wanted to be a star, must have died happy, because he died a star, his throat shattered by a Wood Elf Wardancer.

"Slippi the Gutter Runner, the rising star, was shot down in his prime, but not by the Loreni Reavers - a boulder thrown from the crowd by a watching Ogre landed smack on top of him, crushing him completely."

"However, despite the losses, the Slavers managed to hire another player... a Gutter Runner by the name of Scampi.

"Scampi was once an all-star Blood Bowl player, serving alongside Hakflem Scuttlespike before he rose to fame. He retired very early when his ankle snapped off, and took up cooking. However, the wonders of modern medicine have repaired his ankle, and while nowehere as good as he used to be, the Slavers instantly hired Scampi when he offered his services to the team. He has taken number one, in Slippi's memory.

"The coach of the Waaaaagh!, the Orc team in the league, could not be reached for comment after the Slavers beat him at his own game, taking out more players than the famously brutal Orc team ever had. The coach of the Reavers was also unavailable for comment. Vosnaardiskikk, however, was. He said he was "proud of his team, and [is] sure that the Slavelord would be proud too." He also told his brother Vosnaardiskikk, the Supersonic, to "stick it." Whatever that means."

SCORE: 6 - 1 VICTORY
MVP: Rattler

1: Scampi, Gutter Runner [Formerly Slippi {Gutter Runner}]

11: Rattstein, Linerat
SKILLS: Dirty Player | MVP: 0 | SPP: 6

12: Empty [Formerly Rattenheimer {Linerat}]

OOC: The single most brutal Blood Bowl game I have ever played. The elves suffered 8 casualties, 6 inflicted by me, 2 by the fireball. Five of them died after the game. There were 4 of his players on the field by the second half, and by Turn 4, only one. I got a touchdown almost every other turn, until I got careless and let his last player, a catcher, get to the endzone. He made 6 successful dodge rolls (granted, he did have the dodge skill :P). I suffered 4 casualties, all inflicted by him, but only 2 died (including my Gutter Runner with 24 SPP's :P). It was an epic game, and sooo much fun... but both teams have been decimated. He has 5 surviving players, and I have 10. Hooray journeymen! :P

Yup. Journeymen are IMO the single most valuable change in LRB6.

An epic slaughter, I must say.
Any special rules you use, since so many casualties proves fatal?

Da Bloodbowler one
i dont expect much inducements. he gets his free players and they cost the same are regular once(but he does not get them premanent so they dont cost real gold) and ofcourse they get the loner skill.. only way to get inducements for him is if you managed to kill his valuable players and even then, its not going to upset the balance of the game. If you killed his 2 wardancers, now that chances matters, cause they do give him 100K in inducements, but you have taken out his 2 most valuable players so thats a great tradeoff. so says a selfdeclared bb expert

"The last two matches for the Morkreekian Slavers were a mixed bag. Their first game against the Waaaaagh! resulted in a niggling injury for Sneeki, and he as a result missed the next game against the Reavers. Linerat Kornelios also became better at blocking it seems.

"The team also hired a new Gutter Runner by the name of Shrimpi - he gained his speed by running from his litter-mates, who always would bully him, because he was the runt of the lot.

"The next game, against the Reavers, resulted in a loss. Although the Slavers killed a Wardancer in a foul, they still managed to not be able to stop the sneaky elves. While not as brutal as the last match between the two, it was still bloody."

Ouch, a niggling injury on your Gutter Runner is harsh!

Seeing how you face Orcs quite a lot, I'd consider stacking up on money an awful lot right now. You can expect to take some casualties along the way (especially with skills for your opponents, as I know how I'd play bashy Orcs), so having a bucketload of cash to hire new keyplayers is always a nice thing... Still, quite impressive to see the string of wins and good results there! Nice job, Mork. ^_^

I've been trying to save up, but I roll abysmally low on my winnings. :P Averaging 20000... :P

I was trying to see if I could get a Rat Ogre (mostly for fun, but mayhaps it could do some damage to an Orc team)?

It's also amusing that I've inflicted more casualties on the elf player than the Orc player has. :P

To be honest, Rat Ogres tend to be similar to Black Orc Blockers in leagues. If you don't have them early on, they tend to have gained too few skills to truely make themselves dangerous for opposing teams... One thing you really do not find funny to be happening would be your Rat Ogre being knocked senseless by a Blitzer, only to be losing a bucketload of team value, plus your savings from (many) previous games.
