Yup, was the Storm of Chaos, made for the Archaon's Horde list with the flayerkin I suspect to cater to siege scenarios during the campaign.

well after digging i was told that citadel is not going to make them but that they are going to be models which i think forgeworld was being hinted in the discussion so forgeworld is working on some chaos dwarfs and because they are making the models they will also be making the rules (army book). think what you will with this info

What I think of this information is that I would like to know who/ what your source is.

ForgeWorld making armybooks for Warhammer Fantasy sounds like a BS story to me (with all due respect for your searching, of course), as they NEVER make armybooks for the Games Workshop systems.

Quiet, I'm plotting.

I have to agree with Vins. ForgeWorld is a resin model making company, not a publishing house. GW releasing some kind of army list and ForgeWorld making models to suit it, that kind of makes sense.

Though, as far as I know, ForgeWorld has never made pieces for an entire range before. Seems like, if they were, they would pick something that is guaranteed to sell to start out with. Like a set of Space Marines or something. Jumping straight into the deep end with Chaos Dwarfs seems like a bit of a risk.

Totally rad
What about the epic 40,00 and battlefleet gothic tau fleets? GW made the first set of models for the Tau fleet (bulky trade ships with guns) while forgeworld released a new force that looked more sleek and deadly:

Comparisons:
Games Workshop Mechant class
Forgeworld Custodian class

That's the thing with forgeworld, they're like the producers of classier alternatives for the discerning collector. Their stuff usually supplements the main product line, they don't produce the main product line. But even if they were the main producers of the chaos dwarf models, it still doesn't make sense that they'll be writing the rules. I wouldn't think they even have rule writers.

I agree with Scriv, they've never written an army book before, so it makes no sense to start now.

Well, not entirely...

The Imperial Armour volumes come from ForgeWorld, as do the rules for the 'special' models/ units/ vehicles/ bases they create. Next to that, they've also created the rules for the Aeronautica Imperialis game, together with the complete miniatures line to complement the game.

However, for Warhammer Fantasy, they've (up to now) sticked to scenery or humongous monsters. Full units, characters and warmachines are not something I can recall they've done for any Warhammer Fantasy army.

In reply to the models they've created for Epic 40,000 and Battlefleet Gothic, I will have to admit that I'm not sure what the intent was when they began those lines. (The simple reason for this is that some models have been around since before I began playing). However, the Tau line of models for Battlefleet Gothic is for an alternative (houserules) fleetlist... In regard to the Chaos Dwarves, the discussion has been that ForgeWorld would create the (whole) miniatures range for the full army, or at least, that's what I summarized from ItalianRat87's post.

well forgeworld does make rules for the models they make like vins is saying, and so it would not seem od if they would come out with a set of rules for chaos dwarfs if they do decide to make them, thats all im saying like my earlier post think what you will with this, im just saying thats what i got out of my diggin which i will not reveal my sources b/c it would most likely result in something bad for them

I stand corrected then!

But as it stands, they have never published anything near what equates to an army book, or a fully fledged miniature range like any of the other Warhammer armies have, yes? If that is the case I maintain that doing Chaos Dwarfs as an initial attempt of something like this seems a bit risky.

@ItalianRat87:
You miss a point here.

The rules ForgeWorld made for the units they did usually consisted of vehicles, (huge) monsters, or scenery pieces (should they require rules). They have done units/ squads in the past (such as Tallarn rough riders, Elysian Drop Troopers, Krieg or the plague-infested Traitor Guard), but those never came with full armylists written by ForgeWorld. (People with access to Imperial Armour books might prove me wrong here, but up to this point, I'm doubtfull that ForgeWorld has written anything along those lines).

It could very well be possible that ForgeWorld will do a Chaos Dwarf miniatures line (though, as they work project-based, I doubt they have the resources to fill the propable desire for them by the gaming community), but a complete armybook to go along with it still sounds like utter nonsence to me... for the simple reason that something like that hasn't been done before. Ever!
