I need some assistance here, comrats. I am pulling my True Path N!njrats out of their dojo, and once more setting forth to basically slaughter every enemy character I can find. But I find myself caught on the sharp pointy bits of a dilemma about which combination of Charatters to employ in my 2250pt force. Do I use: Master Ratssasin with Fellblade, Talisrat of Protection + smoke bombs Sorcerat with 2 Dispel Scrolls Sorcerat with Warp Scroll Ratssassin with Warpstone Stars + smoke, or Bands of Power, Warpstone Amulet + smoke or: Master Ratssasin with Fellblade, Talisrat of Protection + smoke bombs 2 Sorcerats, each with 2 Dispel Scrolls Sorcerat with Warp Scroll Opinions? |

However great it is to have many options to get skitterleap through (I take it that's why you would go for 3 sorc's), I personally prefer to have more than just 1 professional killer on such big tasks as a 2250pts game is. Should your MA go down (the Horned Rat forbid it), your various runners and GutterRunners with some magical skill can only accomplish that much. However you may find your two Triads (IIRC) to be sufficient. So I would go for the MA+A+2*S combo. But I am not an experienced general, and definately not in the "True Path", so don't just take my word for it. |

I would go for just 2 Sorcerats & assassin as opposed to 3 sorcerat. Unless you are going up against an army with high magic use 2 dispel scrolls can be as useful as 4 but then you loose out on power dice with a sorcerat less. Oh swings and roundabouts! No Sensi, 2 sorcerats & assassin with stars, my mind is made up? |
Currently joint first in PRS points, may as well blow my trumpet whilst I've got one.

In the immortal words of GT "Four scrolls is a w@nk" Do you really need that many scrolls? Better, I'd think, to rock up acknowledging that 5 dice and one or two scrolls will have to suffice, and take the rest on the chin. Let the troops (and skitterleaping characters) take care of the rest of your magic defence. Think offence. Offence is fun. Warpscroll, warpstorm scroll, power stones, warptokens, brass orb, headsplitter, warpstone stars, bands of power etc. Besides, if you wanted to play conservative, you'd be fielding rank bonuses ![]() I vote option 1, with stars on

Two casters should provide plenty of skitterleaping opportunities, I would choose option one with the warpstone star assassin. |

"Master" Assassin

I must agree with the others, Sensei: two charraters with the ability to kill with impunity trump one lone Ratassin. Too often has my Master Ratassin disappeared in a puff of smoke never to return, leaving my Sorcerats with nothing to fling about the battlefield. My only humble suggestion would be to get rid of the Warp Scroll in exchange for a Brass Orb when running the Warpstone Stars on your 2nd Ratassin. In my experience, the Warp Scroll only tends to work when there are Bands of Power present, because enemy dispel dice won't be as readily available to throw at the scroll. Glad to see you unleashing the True Path N!njrats upon the unsuspecting once again, Sensei. |
