Grey Seer -death globes -foul pendant -storm daemon -warpstone charm Engineer -Kit (-pistol) -2 X d.scroll Assassin -warpstone Stars Plague Priest -Bands of Power -Warpstone amulet -AHW 25 clanrats -stand -mus -ratling gun 25 clanrats -stand -mus -spears -ratling gun 21 slaves 21 slaves 4 globadiers 4 globadiers 2 giant rat packs 7 jezzails 6 gutter runners -poison -tunnelers 6 gutter runners -poison -tunnelers 24 plague monks -stand -mus -deacon -AHWs -War Banner 9 Plague Censur Bearers 4 IronGuts -gutlord 2249 pts 8 power dice 5 dispell dice This is for a local RT tourney, so mostly RT rules, WYSIWYG models, painted (so the removing the spears suggestion that always happens, can't be done. i just dont have the time to put together and paint another 25 rats. I'm still getting the slaves painted) Tried to get a little bit of everything, so i can fight, shoot, and magic depending on the opponent and circumstance. Using Ironguts instead of Rat Ogres is new to me, but the +3 ld,+2 str, +2 AS for only 12 more pts (for a unit of 4) seemed ridiculous not to take, especially since I never use both Rare slots. |

Just some fast comments on what I'd change (only got a few mins); I'd swap StormD/Warpstone Charm combo with the 2 Dispel Scrolls on the Warlock. Call it personal preference... I think it fits better to have the Seer carry the scrolls. It's safer & you have a smaller chance of giving away VP's for a Seer that looses wounds. I always give my Priests a Censer..it's the best weapon out there if you take the point-cost into account. I'd swap Assassin for a BSB (BotS).. if you decide to stick with assassin, then field a NR unit to screen the Monks & put the assassin in there. Make the Tunnelling Teams smaller (I use them in 4's) and buy that NR unit with the left-over points. I always give my slaves a Mu. Again, this is personal preference.. but if you've never tried it.. you should give it a shot. Have your name changed to "Mutate" See ya & good luck, Mik |

thanks for the reply I was thinking about dropping the champ from the ogres and switching one of the ratlings to a warpfire thrower, just for variety that would leave me with the points (or close to) for the musicians in the slaves I'm not a fan of the BSB, I know on paper, and other peoples experience it is a great thing, but from personal experience (not sure, maybe it's the way i play) they seem to either never get used, only let me reroll to try and get snake eyes again, or get run down adding another 100 vp to my opponent. I tend to win a combat or lose so horribly only snake eyes lets me stay. And I'm a firm believer that everything in the army is expendable ( I like the idea of a static 8 CR unit, but would never feel right using it, one bad panic test and that's alot of points off the table) The assassin is a giant suicide machine that get skitterlept behind a giant/chariot/foolishly lone caster, and unloads with the warpstars. This list is very "in your deployment zone" with skitterleaping the assassin and Grey seer to strategic points, the tunnelers popping up and causing havoc, while the rest of the army advances under cover of confusion/panic. Tunnelers i like at 6-7 as its a tourney setting, if i face a khorne army, or no-magic brets, a unit of 4 has no purpose, with 6 i can take board quarters, and get flank bonus if need be I usually give the priest a Censer as well, but thought i would try the BoP on him to suck dispell dice, so gave him the AHW to make 5 str 8 attacks, thats scary enough to dispell if hes close to your line i figure. I have never used musicians on slave, i think i'll try it tonight and see how it goes, its cheap and i can see the benefits. Any comments/experiences with Ironguts as a rare? do they do well, or just get shot up/lose to anything remotely armored liek Rat Ogres? |

You do not have enough regiments. I would recommend two more units of clanrats and two more units of slaves. Drop the ironguts, reduce the size of the censers (9 is way too big) and perhaps drop a few globadiers to get the points. |

played a game with this last night to get a feel. 9 censers is way too many, going to cut it back to my usual 7 probably going to drop 1 irongut and the champ from the ogres (though death frenzy on them was hilarious as the creamed into a unit of coldone knights) I think 3 would be fine so thats 102 pts shaved i already outnumber my opponents so much, i think utility would be better than just more clanrats at this point, maybe more giant rat packs? my clanrats didn't have much to do in my test game based on my opponents deployment and defensive big blocks (they moved like 3 inches during the whole game) so maybe not the best judge of the potential of another unit of them (just painting another 45 rats makes me cry when i see the deadline) was facing darkelves, what he had that i could tell: fancy lord with sword that made his str double your toughness lvl 2 wiz lvl 2 wiz big unit of coldones w/bsb,hydrabanner small unit of cold ones medium unit of darkriders block of warriors block of corsairs (maybe, the guys with lizard cloaks) 3 RBT he picked off the ratling guns and the suicide assassin, which allowed my fast guys *giant rats, ogres to pincer flanks and set up future side charges. slaves and offensive clanrats w/warlock ran straight up the middle with accompanying globies, the monks went toward the coldones, as no other target was withing 3 turns of movement (i would really rather not go at 2+ saves with these guys, but was nothing else remotely close) and i bascially used them asan anvil and bait at the same times while ogres, clanrats and globies all waited in a line to flank charge the knights however far they chased if i broke. |
