hey writing a 2K list for a tourney at warhammer world next month (anyone else going?!) Magic heavy themed army, nothing better then shooting down enemies with green lighning! ______________________________________________________________________ Lord: Grey seer - 335 dispell scroll eye of the horned rat twisted crown Heros: Warlock - 135 All kit minus pistol Storm demon Dispell scroll Warlock - 135 All kit minus pistol 2X scroll Cheiftan - 103 Xtra h/wep Bands of power Warpstone amulet Core: 2X 20 slaves - 80 2X 20 clan rates Musc, banner, ratling guns - 350 20 storm vermin, sheilds , full command, warbanner - 230 Special: 20 monks, full command, banner of burning hatred - 210 10 Jezzails - 200 Rare: Cannon - 100 7 cencer bearers - 118 Total = 1996 im not too sure whether to substitue the jezzails for a screaming bell, both are very useful and i just love the idea of having 13 power dice per phase! General tactics are blow them up from long range, focus firing on 1 or 2 units per turn, then charge slaves into combat and shoot or bait charges and swarm. seer goes with SV ready to skitterleap out of combat. SV and monks hold up my centre while clanrats / cencers get into the flank. cheiftain either goes with monks or SV depending on situations C&C much appriciated |

Your list is way too dependent on magic and shooting and has far too few core troops. If you want magical power, taking the grey seer and one additional warlock will provide plenty of power dice. Since your army has lower leadership, a BSB would be more beneficial that a combat chieftain (equip him with the war banner). With the points saved from the heroes, add in additional slave and clanrat units and expand them. 20 clanrats and 20 stormvermin is far too small. You should have at least three units of 30 clanrats and 3 units of 20 slaves, with the stormvermin unit at 25-30 strong. |

i've always found that with magic it only wworks if you go all out or none at all. having a mediocre magic phase won't pack enough punch to work its points back. Maybe if i dropped the jezzails and one ratling gun to add in another clan rat and slave unit and/or depding on points left over bump up the SV/clanrat units? Would that be more benificial? |

Unless your opponents have massive amounts of magic, 9 power dice in 2000 points is a powerful magic phase, you would certainly cast plenty of spells against balanced magic lists. Dropping the Jezzails and the ratling gun for more clanrats and slaves would definitely be beneficial. It is essential that you add in those units and expand your existing MCU's (except the plague monks 20 is a good size), you need more troops. |
