Well, whatever, its Clan Mother now! *whispers* I probably shouldve checked the translation before I decided... Oh yea and frankensqueek I read a few warhammer novels and I know reich is a empire word, I kind of meant it to be a parody of the empire.

I named it Clan Rikket because it sounded like a name that a skaven clan would have ^_^ .

The Empire is highly influenced by the Holy Roman Empire, which collapsed into Prussia and then modern Germany, so most of the words are taken from German, along with the design - just look at all the eagles, for example.

So, using your method of deduction, modern Germany was in old times the Roman empire?

... I always thought modern Italy was known as the birthplace of the Roman empire.

I think Verminreich is an excellent name. Maybe skavenize it to Verminreik? Or would it be Verminrykk?

...you can still call me Rusty Tincanne if you want, though.

I came up with a clan name so I could register and read stuff on the Nemisis Crown website. As I point out all too frequently, I run a Bubonic Court list, but calling my army "Clan Pestilens" or a BCoN just wouldn't do. So I consulted a thesaurus. I finally settled on the Accolytes of Affection.

Because I have a thing for alliterations and double entendres, the name is perfect. "Accolytes", refers to the religious aspect of Pestilens, and "Affection" refers both to their diseases (the are "affected") and their love and devotion for spreading the "good word" of Nurglitch.

The basic fluff is that they are a sub-clan of Pestilens that has migrated northwards to spread disease in Bretonnia. (I hate tropical weather and I've always wanted to visit France.) Like the Jesuits or Opus Dei are to the Catholic Church.

The name of my Pontifex is Hissselskit. It came to me as I awoke one morning and I liked it a lot. Because I'm not great at coming up with names I like and I don't talk about the fluff of my army much w/my opponents, I use the name a lot. Thus far I've also used "Hisselskit" in a fan-fic piece (unfinished), for my linerat in Vinz'z blood bowl RPG, and as my blood bowl team's temporary coach (pending).

If anyone can think of a better name for a sub group of Pestilens, I'm game!

Is there a funny story behind the name of your army?

*ponders*...

Come to think of it, I've never given my army a proper name, other then just using clan Vinshqueek. Perhaps I should do a revision of my army background some day, cause I don't even have a reasonable reason as to why I did so. (Other then being lazy, seeing how it comes from my account name  ).

One day a gutter runner team got a little lost on the way to battle and ended up bursting out of the ground in front of a giant black pyramid in the middle of a very hot day. They went to investigate. As they made their way along the dark passages and chambers their numbers slowly decreased. Finaly their were only two left as the last two entered the final chamber the big sneaky boss decided to investigate all the treasure on the ground (by hitting the other little rat across the head telling him to stand guard and running of to stuff as much of it in his pants and under his cloak) the other scared little rat decided to do as he was told but not before he drank some red soda from a cup on a pile of bones. The little rat liked the red soda alot and drank till their was no more and then he noticed that their was some red soda flowing from his boss's shoulder and went to have some more.

and so was born skarsvit-redfang the rat-vampire assasin, leader of the decaying shadows.

My warlord has had his chisel-teeth filed away, and replaced with fangs. His tail has been swapped for one of a "bushy" variety. Thus was created...

"Warlord Fer-rat and his Pack Ratz".

The genetically engineered, escaped experiment of Clan Moulder. He leads his warband around, looting and collecting everything they can carry.

He is loosely based on my old pet ferret, Napoleon, who had a penchant for taking anything that he could drag and hiding it inside the sofa. Likewise, my army has bits and pieces from many warhammer armies incorporated into the units B) .

Napoleon was really cool, and I think that if he was alive today, he would love the army I dedicated to him...Of course, if he was alive, two thirds of the army would currently reside inside of the sofa  .

Clan Bloodfang. Anyone able to make the link? :P

Aside from it's high egotystical value, Clan Bloodfang takes its name after a clanwide curse that it's members suffer from.

Basically it causes them to frenzy when in combat. It's spread by Warlord Bloodfang biting the new clan members. Bloodfang's able to control it better since he's lived with it longer then the others and was given it first.

It's like... the curse was given to Bloodfang by Khorne but he (Bloodfang) doesn't realise that, so while he's fanatically devote to The Horned Rat he's actually killing for Khorne. The name comes from the fact that the curse causes blood to drip from their front fangs constantly.

I don't have a fancy story, but went by the criteria: does it have lots of hissy skaveny sounds in? Do I spit slightly when I say it? And ended up with Skarskarrik ^_^ *gets spit everywhere*
