Greetings everyone. This is my current thinking for a 2000 point army led by a Warlord. Please let me know what you think of it, and any changes you might think of suggesting. it looks like quite a balanced list however there are a few changes i would recommend. the first one is the storm vermin they arnt actully that good but i like them for fluff but still i would say that 29 is 2 big for that unit as they cost 9pts each i would go for 25 at the most, allthough if you do leave the unit like that i would swap the battle standard banner for the stormvermin units war banner as he is more likely to survive and it give you a definet +1. |

Hmm, that's a really good point actually, Vermitt. I definately see what you're saying in regards to switching the banners on my Stormvermin and BSB around. However, recently it's been brought to my attention that the BSB, with the Banner of the Swarm, can hang around at the back of the Stormvermin unit, and if things start going south for them, he can skip out and join a nearby Clanrat unit, giving them the benefits of the BSB and the Banner of the Swarm as well. As the Stormvermin in this army would be a pretty high target priority for whatever my enemy has to throw at it(I would think), they could start to get mauled and wittled down pretty quickly. So having the BSB with the Banner of the Swarm starting off with them, and being able to take off and leave them to their doom if the going gets rough seems like a pretty good idea to me...not to mention perfectly in keeping with the background and feel of everything that is Skaven The chances are good my Clanrat units will be outnumbering most enemy units as well, so the Banner of the Swarm will benefit them just as much as well. So basically what I'm trying to say is that I like the idea of a very mobile +2 to combat res BSB, being able to move between units when needed. Once again, your suggestion is definately valid, and even more of a sure thing than my plan. So we'll see how it works out, and if it goes miserably you can say "told you so"! As for the size of the Stormvermin unit, you might be right. Cutting them down to 24 strong would save me a respectable 45 points, so I might actually give that some thought. With those points, and maybe dropping a couple of Giant Rat packs, I could afford to get myself a Warp Lightning Cannon, which is something I've been wanting. |

Here's a revised list, that cuts down on my Stormvermin and Giant Rat numbers, but also allows me to buy a Warp Lightning Cannon...and less excitingly a set of Heavy Armour for my BSB Chieftan. It does feel a little better to have not quite so many points tied up in one unit now. So, what do you think? Warlord- Heavy Armour Shield Weeping Blade Warpstone Amulet Bands of Power Chieftan- Heavy Armour Battle Standard Banner of the Swarm Warlock Engineer- Warp Blades Upgraded Warp Energy Condenser Supercharged Warp Power Accumulator Dispel Scroll Storm Daemon Warlock Engineer- Warp Blades Upgraded Warp Energy Condenser Supercharged Warp Power Accumulator Death Globes Warp Scroll 30 Clanrats- Ratling Gun Musician Standard Bearer Clawleader 30 Clanrats- Ratling Gun Musician Standard Bearer 24 Stormvermin- Shields Musician Standard Bearer War Banner Fangleader 25 Slaves- Musician 25 Slaves- Musician 2 Giant Rat Packs 5 Night Runners- Additional Hand Weapons 5 Night Runners- Throwing Stars 5 Night Runners- Throwing Stars 5 Poisoned Wind Globadiers 25 Plague Monks- Additional Hand Weapons Musician Standard Bearer Banner of Burning Hatred Deacon 6 Plague Censer Bearers Warp Lightning Cannon TOTAL-1999pts. MUTATE: Shoot, I think I've got some of my points messed up here, so the total isn't quite right. I'll work at it and hopefully figure out where things went wrong. Until then, feel free to comment on what's here. |

Okay, here's a list that more closely resembles my current 1500 point list, and could easily be built up from it. Maybe even more importantly, the points add up correctly Please let me know what you think.Warlord- Heavy Armour Shield Weeping Blade Warpstone Amulet Bands of Power Chieftan- Battle Standard War Banner Warlock Engineer- Warp Blades Upgraded Warp Energy Condenser Supercharged Warp Power Accumulator Dispel Scroll Storm Daemon Warlock Engineer- Warp Blades Upgraded Warp Energy Condenser Supercharged Warp Power Accumulator Death Globes Warp Scroll 29 Clanrats- Ratling Gun Musician Standard Bearer Clawleader 29 Clanrats- Ratling Gun Musician Standard Bearer Clawleader 30 Clanrats- Musician Standard Bearer Clawleader 25 Slaves- Musician 25 Slaves- Musician 5 Poisoned Wind Globadiers 5 Night Runners- Additional Hand Weapons 5 Night Runners- Throwing Stars 5 Night Runners- Throwing Stars 3 Giant Rat Packs 25 Plague Monks- Additional Hand Weapons Musician Standard Bearer Banner of Burning Hatred Deacon 6 Plague Censer Bearers Warp Lightning Cannon TOTAL-1999pts. |

Excellent. My only recommendation would be to drop the globadiers in favor of another unit of slaves (5 globadiers will cause little damage). The champion in your plague monk unit is also unnecessary. |

Thanks muchly for the response, pilgrim! As always I appreciate and value your wise advice. The couple of suggestions you made seem like just little things, and I'm fine with that. Those are easily fixed if need be. Overall I'm happy to see the list in general seems a solid base. Thanks again! I'm working at making my 1500 point list that this army is based off, into a 2000 point army led by a Grey Seer. I'm finding it much more difficult thanks to the Grey Seer's relatively massive points cost, so I'm glad to see I'm at least on the right track with the Warlord list. |

The list is looking good, however I do have a suggestion. You seem to be lacking slaves. Two units is ok, but three is better, you can never have enough slaves right? ;-) I would suggest dropping the pawleader from the clanrat units to free up some points. Drop one Poisoned Wind Globadier and one slave of each unit. If my memory serves me right that will free up just enough points for a 22 slaves unit including a musician. So that is a complete unit without losing to much. The pawleader is considered to be a waste of points. His extra attack won't make a difference and refusing challenges isn't that much of a problem for skaven. Good to see you got rid of the storm vermin ;-) The rest of the list looks ace. |

i share the same opinoin on the slaves but apart from that the list seems like a pefectly balanced strong list. |

Aww, I miss the Stormvermin Seriously, that looks like a solid list. I will echo the suggestions to include more slaves. Everything else looks quite good. |

Thanks for the replies, everyone! It seems universally that I should get some more Slaves, and so I will! Of course, you're all right...one can never have too many Slaves. Okay, well I'll look into freeing up some points(thanks for the help with that, Aeschere) and fitting in another unit of the amazing little dregs. |
