Hi all.

It has been a wile since I wanted to play skaven (for 3 months now I played the Druchii).
But now I want to got back to my sneaky backstabbing army. The thing I alway's lack in skaven (and it is obvious) is the lack of units that hit hard. I tried to fix this with adding DOW. Anyway here is the list I made

----------------------------------------------------------
Heroes
Warlord : Heavy armour, Shield, Weeping blade, Warpstone amulet, Bands of Power = 172 pts
Warlock engineer : Full kit (except pistol), Storm Deamon = 110 pts
Warlock engineer : Full kit (except pistol), Dispelscroll =110 pts
Warlock engineer : Full kit (except pistol), Eye of the horned rat, Dispel scroll = 135 pts

Core
29 clanrats : Standard, Musician, Ratlinggun = 220 pts
29 clanrats : Standard, Musician, Ratlinggun = 220 pts
29 clanrats : Standard, Musician = 160 pts
29 clanrats : Standard, Musician = 160 pts
21 Slaves : Musician = 46 pts
21 Slaves : Musician = 46 pts
21 Slaves : Musician = 46 pts
21 Slaves : Musician = 46 pts
5 Nightrunners = 25 pts
5 Nightrunners = 25 pts
5 Nightrunners = 25 pts
2 PWG = 20pts
2 PWG = 20pts

Rare
DOW Gaint = 205 pts
Ironguts = 192 pts

Models : 228 models
units : 15 units
Powerdice : 8/9 powerdice + 2 boundspells
Dispell dice : 5 dispell dice + 2 dispellscrolls
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
This is a list that I will test tomorrow vs VC.
Could I get some critiques about this list?. (And will it work against VC?)
(the player is going magic heavy (so about 13 PD's) (together with 2 units of black knights and 1 unit blood knights, some wolves and ghouls)

I'm not at all very experienced, but I must say...whoa, I like the list. A lot.

The only thing missing that I really love is a good, hard-hitting unit of Plague Monks....possibly accompanied by a Plague Priest for some more hitting power. If you're looking for something that's killy AND a Skaven unit, then I think these guys are the answer, imho, of course.

I guess you could get rid of one of your Clanrat units and Slave units to try and make some room for them. They've not let me down yet.

Overall, very nice list!

An excellent list, although I do not understand your rare choices. The points would be better spent on Jezzails, tunneling teams or plague monks and censers (especially if you are playing against blood knights). The ogres and giant would be of dubious effectiveness against VC, as they are vulnerable magic and fear would be irrelevant.

True but I thought that ogres should be able to kill the blood knights on charge. I did some statistic tests and Ironguts butcher bloodknights on a frontal charge (not to mention flank). The giant can be there to keep units busy and maybe snatch up a hero in his bag.
Also the vampire counts only have 1 magic missile in their lore and it is not the basic spell in the lore (so that should not be such a big problem). So I don’t really see why they should be vunerable to magic. Fear is certainly NOT irrelevant. 1th of all these units cannot be autobreaked by fear causers and 2th these units don’t have to make fear tests when they charge. Of course an argument may be to say (yea but with ld 8/9 it is not likely to fail) then again I had times were 1 unit clanrats were not able to charge the flank of a unit skeletons for 2 turns because they failed their ld 9 test 2 times.

Another thing I doubt is the use of gutterunners vs VC. I mean the VC's have no warmachines (so their obvious role is gone). Also they are normally used to auto destroy enemy units that flee (due to US 5) but because undead units are not going to run that has no purpose either. Furthermore they have Ld 7 witch means that about 1/3 the of the time you want to charge you cant due to the fear test. And if you manage to get them in contact with a vampire, he is going to make mice meat of your gutterunners.

Forgot about the lack of VC warmachines. You are correct, tunnelers would not be the best choice, however I think monks and cencers would be very useful.
