Nurglitch-575 Festering Chantor- Lvl 2, Ahw, Additional Warpstone Token- 120 Plague Priest- Liber Bubonicus, Flail- - 114 25 Rotten Rodents- Standard, Musician- 165 24 Rotten Rodents- Standard, Musican- 159 25 Pusbags- 75 25 Pusbags- 75 20 Plague Monks- Ahw, FC, Umbranner-225 23 Plague Monks- Ahw, FC, Banner of Burning Hatred- 239 6 Plague Censer Bearers- 102 2 Rat Spawns- 150 8 PD 6 DD I was sucked in by this alternate list. Nurglitch is compulsory so I can't drop that 575 points otherwise it looks good to me, wondering what you guys think. One question what would it be better to take, 2 Rat Spawns or a block of 3 Rat Ogres. Thanks in advance |

Another convert! A few things: - Most people don't consider Nurglitch compulsory. He's great, but dropping him will free up a lot of points, as you noted. You could get a second priest! - Rat spawns are not that great. I field them because I feel they are more fluffy (and because they aren't frenzied), but a unit of 3 MROs would probably work better, honestly. - Unless you don't want a lot of frenzied troops running around, RRs and PBs aren't worth taking, IMHO. I'd rather be getting the extra attacks. And if you dropped them you could get more PMs and PCBs. The pussbags might be good to take as a screen - I usually get shot up pretty bad prior to reaching the opponent, but such is life, eh?) - At 2K I run 3 units of PCBs. They are essential. Large units of PMs hold the enemy in place and can mince up rank and file, but you'll need PCBs on the flanks to take out anything remotely tough. - Your Priest won't really need the Liber. You have a chantor for spell casting/dispelling. - How do you have those magical banners? Don't standard bearers need to carry them? And aren't priests the only standard bearers we have? Have I been missing something again!? Good luck with this list! |

Yes, you are missing something: 1 unit of Plague Monks can have a Magic Standard as an upgrade to their units standard. But only 1 unit can do this. So you have to drop one of the Magic Banners to make the list legal I agree with basically everything that Rusty Tincanne says. The only thing I have to add is to grab a BSB. With so many Frenzied troops you will be likely winning most combats anyway, but with a BSB in a unit you will increase your chances of breaking the enemy in a single round of combat... Plus Plague Priest BSB's are fairly good fighers as well... - Sammy |

Nurglitch-575 Festering Chantor- Lvl 2, Ahw, Additional Warpstone Token- 120 Plague Priest- BSB, War Banner- 120 15 Frothing Giant Rats- 75 15 Frothing Giant Rats- 75 20 Plague Monks- Ahw, FC, Umbranner-225 23 Plague Monks- Ahw, FC, - 214 20 Plague Monks- Ahw, FC- 190 6 Plague Censer Bearers- 102 6 Plague Censer Bearers- 102 4 Mad Rat Ogres- 200 1999pts 7 PD 5 DD As much of a point sink Nurglitch is, it is just so fluffy to have him in the list, so i decided to keep him. I dropped the rotten rodents and picked up an additional censer bearer unit. I also added the BSB and an additional plague monk unit. I was wondering where to put the priest, he could be in the large monk unit or the Umbranner unit with Nurglitch. One other big thing I did was drop the pusbags and add in blocks of giant rats. Last but not least, I changed out the rat spawns for a unit of mad rat ogres. |

Looks much better. And still so different from mine. I look forward to hearing how it handles. If you ever want to ditch the Big N but sill want to be super fluffy w/a special character, don't forget about Skrolk: http://uk.games-workshop.com/skaven/special-characters/4/. It's always fun to change things up a bit here and there. And teh mini is SOOOO much better! |

Hello, I was wondering where I could find this alternate army list? As a fan of both the skaven and Nurgle, I cannot resist. Thank you. |

Many thanks, pilgrim. It is a gruesome list that I may consider expanding into. Is this an "official" list from GW? That is, would it be tournament-legal? |
