Greetings-greetings ratkin, ==Me== here.

After hoarding away ==My== fair share of rats and finishing ==My== Screaming Bell, I realized that I've got a little over 2000 points of Skaven. Hooray!

So I've whipped up a 2000 point list (double the usual amount  ) using most of ==My== collecton.

Lords/Heroes
Grey Seer-Screaming Bell, Eye of the Horned Rat, Warpstone Charm, Dispel Scroll
I love this guy, such potential fo damage and a really nifty model
Warlock Engineer-full kit (no pistol), Storm Daemon, Dispel Scroll
The one, the only, Pikachu!
Plague Priest-Languisher Sword, Bands of Power
A nasty surprise for anyone who dares cross the Plague Monks
Chieftain-BSB, Warbanner
Protecting the Seer and Clanrats
Chieftain-great weapon, heavy armor, Brass Orb
Just a run of the mill cheap-o Chieftain to bolster the 2nd unit of Clanrats. Or is it?

Core
Clanrats-25, standard bearer, musician, Ratling Gun
Brass Orb Chiefy goes here
Clanrats-23, standard bearer, musician, Ratling Gun
Grey Seer and BSB go here, 6x5 or 5x6?
Slaves-21
Slaves-20
Giant Rats-1 pack
Giant Rats-1 pack
Night Runners-6
Night Runners-6

Special
Plague Monks-23, 2 hand weapons, full command, Banner of Burning Hatred
Always fun, running with PP 6x4
Gutter Runners-5, poisoned hand weapons, tunnelers[/u]
Gutter Runners-5, poisoned hand weapons, tunnelers[/u]

This runs in at 1999 points and 143 models.

It isn't ideal (I'd prefer another block of clanrats and slaves) but it's all I've got for now.

Leftover models:
-Assassin
-7 BFSP night gobbos to be used as slaves or naked nighties (guess where the other 53 are)
-1 Packmaster
-2 Rat Ogres
-Giant Rats/Rat Swarm

Any comments, criticisms, and suggestions are greatly appreciated :)

Fist off your list is illegal. You are only allowed 4 characters in a 2k game... Id suggest dropping the Brass Orb Chieftain, as all the others are too useful to drop...

I'd increase the Giant Rat pack size and maybe add another slave or 2... I'd also drop the Dispel Scroll on your Seer for the Tenebrous Cloak or Twisted Crown, as being such a visable target he will need protection of some sort...

Besides that I dont really know what to say... Id like to see more numbers in there, but with the available models thats just not possible... After the above changes, how many points are left to work with??

D'oh! That shows how often I play big games :(

Dropping the Chieftain frees up enough points for 2 Rat Ogres (an extra plague monk can fill in as a packmaster) and 2 slaves.

Upping the Giant Rat size could be done, but, forgive ==Me== for asking, why? 7 models negates ranks just like 14 and the rank bonuses will be coming from the clanrats/slaves/monks doing the actual fighting. I guess increased survivability, but if they shoot the GRats I should be thankful. Or I could combine 3 packs to have another cheap 4 ranks unit. Now there's an idea Dev

As for the Grey Seer, he's got the Umbranner, though that won't help against Cannonballs and the like. I could swap for the Cloak instead of picking up 3 slaves, would the list be in trouble with 1 scroll and 5 dispel dice?

Thanks Sammy :)

I find Giant Rats work best in 3 packs and run down the flanks. They are more than a match for most enemy flankers, and can then run around behind enemy ranked units to catch them when they flee... Packs of 1 can work, but are very vulnerable to shooting and panic...

I think you'll be okay with 5 DD and 1 Scroll. Against magic heavy armies you might suffer a bit, but I doubt 1 extra scroll would do heaps. I generally like 2 Scrolls in 2k lists, but really some sort of long ranged defence for your Seer is more important...

It appears I've misspelled "Umbr" as "War" again

The BSB is carting it around, would that be enough to protect Mr Seer or would the Tenebrous Cloak be a good supplement? If I pick up the Tenebrous Cloak, should I just go with the War Banner for CR or keep the Umbranner to protect the rats carting the bell around?

That gave me a good laugh, thanks!

I'd definately go with the Tenebrous Cloak. That will help protect him against backfiring Warp Lightning spells, and will provide better protection for him against shooting...

I would then definately change the BSB's banner to the War Banner. The Bell has its own Ward Save, and with the Cloak on the Seer the important things in the unit are safe! With the points saved on downgrading the banner, grab another Clanrat or 2 for the unit to keep them at a decent size. If available, increase the unit further, as with both the General and BSB in it it will attract alot of attention...

Tenebrous Cloak it is then (didn't even think about getting it against backfires!), I'll toss in the War Banner and jobs a good 'un. Most clanrats I can fit in the unit will be 25, so I'll max them out.

Updated, how's this?

Lords/Heroes
Grey Seer-Screaming Bell, Tenebrous Cloak, Warpstone Charm, Eye of the Horned Rat
Warlock Engineer-full kit (no pistol), Storm Daemon, Dispel Scroll
Plague Priest-Languisher Sword, Bands of Power
Chieftain-BSB, War Banner

Core
Clanrats-25, standard bearer, musician, Ratling Gun
Clanrats-25, standard bearer, musician, Ratling Gun
Giant Rats-3 packs
Slaves-20
Slaves-20
Night Runners-6
Night Runners-6

Special
Plague Monks-23, 2 hand weapons, full command, Banner of Burning Hatred
Rat Ogres-2
Gutter Runners-5, poisoned hand weapons, tunnelers
Gutter Runners-5, poisoned hand weapons, tunnelers

Total-1999
Models-160 (now that's a nice number of models)

GS, BSB, and a unit of Clanrats hold the center and dish out the pain, Ld, and re-rolls (gotta love US32 and +6 static CR). Warlock fries anything in range and draws dispel dice/scrolls. 2nd unit of Clanrats and Slaves meaneuver to get flank charges and do their expendable thing. GRats make for a big unit of fast flankers. NRs shield the Plague Monks to keep them from going bonkers, who are escorted by the Plague Priest ASF McCharacter-Killington. They'll run up the other flank and shred anything short of Iron Breakers. The GRs pop up and cause mayhem, killing warmachine crews, march blocking, and stealing everyone's left shoe. ROs follow the GRats and mash anything too hard for them. Ratling Guns sit in the back to deal with flankers, skirmishers, flyers, etc.

Mmm, I'm feeling good about this. Now I just need to field them and get stomped flat -_-

Forgot the 2nd unit of Night Runners :pmaster:

Given your model constraints that is a good list. When you do get more models, simply add a unit of 30 clanrats and a unit of 20 slaves and the list will be substantially better.
