219 models. IMO A blanced list leaning more towards horde than SAD
Possible contender for the WPS club challenge but that's still a long way off and I may not even take Skaven.

Opinions anyone?

Solid list, although I would recommend dropping the spears and using the points for another block of slaves. A banner for the plague monk unit would also be useful.

I would love to drop the spears, unfortunately I play WYSIWYG so they have spears :(
Those 54 points saved alone would by me the extra slave unit and 14 points towards the Banner of Burning hatred.

You could always cut off the upper half of the spears and call them clubs (i.e. hand weapons).

This is probably just nit picking but why give your night runners extra weapons? you could use those (albeit small amount of) points for something more critical. Maybe a champion in your clanrats unit for your warlord? Or a muscian for that last unit of slaves?

Or you could just bite the bullet an remodel them. I ended up remodeling 50 spear rats for my force and it is well-worth the effort, and certainly worth an additional unit of slaves.

I could never mutilate my models, and who knows next army books could have spears a worthwhile option again.

As for extra hand weapons with night runners, it is too good an upgrade to pass. With the extra attack they beat all sorts of opponents that they would struggle against with just 1 attack.

Example, Charge a unit of 10 Empire handgunners with 8 night runners and the odds are the Handgunners win by outnumber. Add in the extra hand weapon and the Night runners win.

To be honest I am suprised that not everyone upgrades their Night Runners :yikes:

Your night runners actually make it into combat?!? well i guess having only one 5-rat unit in a relative horde list makes them kinda low on the "too kill" chart but dang if i ever thought to upgrade em. Maybe if they were in a larger group like you mentioned but i always take 3 x 5-rat Night Runner units for screening my plague monks, WLC, and weapons teams. So they rarely ever make it past the 2-3rd turn haha. I think i play against HE's too much :-P

The storm banner goes a long way to protect them, and if you are rushing the enemy with everything, if they are shooting the Night runners they are not shooting the ranked units. I've always given my Night runners extra weapons, it doesn't make sense not to. If they make it to combat you want to give them every chance.
