Well if you can change your army list it would probably be the best way . Only one unit of clanrats is very small for any skaven list. Still i'm guessing you're using the contant of the basic box so a great way to upgrade would be to add the storm daemon to your warlock engineer. The additional bound spell should at least get throught. If the list are locked then your priority is to get rid of the thunderers if theyre is a hill. Otherwise you should be able to screen most shot with your unit of slave. The only thing that can truly kill the slayers are the plague monks, try to get them in combat with them. Otherwise you will be stock forever. To be able to do this, first deploy the night runners somewhere that won't bother. If theyre are to space of deployment you could realisticly use, put them in one of them. Otherwise make sure they don't get in the way. You could also screen with them but considering the low ld of your list I would'n try it. Then in the main deployment zone put the giant rats on a flank and the rat-ogre on the other. Then you should deploy the slave at the front of your army and finally you put the plague monks on the side of the slayers. If he deployed them somewhere far from your army, great just let it do whatever it want and don't touch it (maybe throw stars at it...). Put the clanrhats on the other side. Now, to win a combat, you can probably stay tied with the unit of 15 warriors for quite some time with simply one unit of clanrats. The thane on the other end will need a flank and a front charge to make sure you have enought combat resolution to win. Thats pretty much it, but dwarf are always a tought matchup for skaven. |

the WE may not be useless - but you will have to see how the game plays out on that one. slayers - try to get plague monks and rat ogres into combat at the same time as these - hopefully you will have 2 ranks, out number and a flank charge to start with. you need to charge as you need to strike first - slayers have no armour (dont know about ward saves) the trick with the units is flank them, especially the unit with the thane in it. keep the thane out of combat - if he is on a corner try and flank from the other side or the rear. in the flank with a full unit you should have +6 combat res before doing wounds and even at his best he should only be able to do 4 wounds which means you should be winning combats by 2 (unitl the thane gets into things) - i would try to lightning this unit as much as possible |

Daniel cannot possibly exist in a dimensional state. Recent studies show that people who have attempted to comprehend Daniel have either disappeared, died spontaneously, or driven themselves into a pertinent state of insanity and/or catatonia. <img src="http://www.heresy-online.net/daemons/adoptables/23041.gif" alt="Broken Adoptable Image" /><br><a href="http://www.heresy-online.net/daemons/levelup/23041-dark-whisper.htm" title="Level up this Daemon!">Level up Adoptable!</a> | |

First of all, congratulations on making it to the finals! Nothing like getting somewhere over the bodies of the enemy. As for the list, I'm guessing that both of these are set, and unchangable? I'm going to be honest, his list looks pretty decent, and should be pretty tough to beat. In smaller games, Warlock Engineers can really make a huge difference (they can in larger games too, but it's really noticible in smaller games, where 2D6 S5 takes out entire units), and against Dwarves, he'll pretty much only be good for awarding your opponent extra VP should he fall. Does your Engineer have the Storm Daemon? With that much magical power, even against the massive supply of Dispel Dice you might be able to get one or two spells off, in that case. The thing to remember going against the dwarves here is that you have an initial advantage of greater CR, but if you start taking wounds from shooting this will immediately dimish. For example, your three main units all have CR5 before going into a fight (3 ranks, a standard and outnumbering) - but if any of them were to take a single wound, it'd be down to 4 (going down to 2 ranks). With this in mind, as early as you can you want to engage/take down the Thunderers, because they're the greatest threat to your victory. How you deal with them is up to you, (magic would really be the best option, if you manage to get any spells off. On that note, don't forget that you have 1 warpstone token for your engineer as standard, giving him 4 dice to cast Warplightning for one turn of the game, which is a pretty good chance even against Dwarves) but making sure he targets the Night Runners seems like a really good idea to me, as the Runners will otherwise have very little use in your army against the Dwarves. So basically, bearing in mind that the biggest trouble your list will face is the Thunderers due to their nasty habit of taking away your Combat Resolution, if you advance forward with your main units, and move to flank with the faster Moulder units, you really should have no troubles. Good luck with the game! |
