This is my first list, I want to play a bubonic court list, I fell in love with the Nurglitch model. I have checked with the local group and they are fine with me playing a Lustria list. I have read the rule book and watched a few games but I am yet to be a skaven general. Any tips/strategy for playing this list? The group usually plays mult-iplayer games .... 4k-6k per side ... each side have 2-3 players @ 2k-3k each.

I am building the list out of the models I have available, so this list may suck. How good/bad is it for "fun" play? Will in be considered super "cheese"?

I have 100 points left for magic items on a chanter and a priest, should I just give them scrolls?

Anyway, here is my 2000 point list:

Code:

Nurglitch (575)

Festering Chanter, level 2, censor, 50 pts magic (176)
10 x Plague Censor Bearers (170)

Plaque Priest, hand weapon, storm banner (174)
22 Plague Monks, hand weapon, deacon, musician, standard (196)

Plague Priest, flail, 50 pts magic (124)
40 x Rotten Rodents, clawleader, musician, standard (265)

36 x Pussbags, pawleader, musician (120)

4 x Mad Rat Ogres (200)

Thanks,
Robert

...you can still call me Rusty Tincanne if you want, though.

I find the list a lot of fun to play. There is no shooting, though, which kind of sucks, as you can get ripped apart. Especially against Skaven!

My suggestions:
Festoring Chantor - give him a couple of warpstone tokens so he'll have a chance at casting Plague. Lose the censer (and take him out of that unit). It'd suck to lose him to a gas hit. He's expensive to lose that way, and, although it sort of sucks, pestilens breath is a useful spell every now and again. Give him 2 hand weapons and let him hang w/ some monks.

Nurglitch - not really compulsory. He's a big point sink, and over powered. If he doesn't die you'll probably win. If he does, you'll lose. At 2K you'll be better off w/a 2nd level chantor and 2 priests (yes, three heroes only).

Your two priests - make one a BSB w/the anti-missile banner, though other banners are good, too.

Rotten Rodents - aren't all that. Take more monks. Even if you're proxying. The extra attacks are your biggest asset.

Monks - take 2 hand weapons and std and mus. Deacon isn't necessary. And take lots of these guys in units of 25 or more. They are great in teh first round of combat, but if they break you'll lose them. And even if they rally, they won't have that 3rd attack. So ranks are really important!

I've never used pussbags or MROs. I just run a monk heavy list w/rat spawns (Which never work for me, btw. I just like the fluff and my conversions.) You've got the right idea w/the pussbags, though. one big unit will lose less minis/turn than 2 smaller units. MRO's seem like they'll be more reliable than rat spawns. I might switch over some day.

Welcome to the brotherhood!

With Nurglitch Rotten Rodents rock (actually comming out better points-wise,) but once the Big Rat dies the RR's get crappy really fast, so having them all depends on what your planning on doing with Nurglitch (if your having him.)
Another thing is that a unit of 40 is pretty hard to manuver around the field, if you could get two units of around 25 I think you'd be much happier.

I definently wouldn't spend money on a Pawleader in the Pussbags though; they're literally fielded to die so any extra money spend in them could probebly be spent elsewhere, not to say that they arn't important.
Actually if you are going with Nurglitch in your list then I would really suggest to replace the Pussbags with Frothing GR's, the whole plus side to Pussbags is that they can be a non-frenzied unit to hold your line back until your in position but if Nurglitch is on the field that plan goes out the window. Pointswise our Giant Rat's are way more valuable than the Pussbags as they move faster and can even hold their own. The only reason why they don't always replace Pussbags is because they default at being frenzied.

Lastly is where's the PCB's man? Those guys just rock! *bsb*

Nurglitch doesn't give the whole army frenzy.. he just makes the units that has frenzy never to lose it..

So i dont really understand why the Pussbags wouldnt be a usefull unit
