the screaming bell is a chariot type of mount/upgrade for a grey seer that must be placed in a unit of clan rats or storm vermin and has a unit strength of six and a base size of 60x40 which is all good.

now for what i cant find; rules that state if it is added to or replaces the models in a unit. maybe i am not reading clear but can someone show me or clarify what happens if i have a unit of clan rats 30 strong and i add a grey seer on a screaming bell? Do i have 24 clan rat models and the screaming bell or 30 clan rats and the screaming bell? and where does it say these rules? #gs#

Well you still have to meet the minimum number of troops to make up a full unit eh? Beyond that is just more to push the bell, so it doesn't actually replace anything. Which is nice 'cuz it adds a nice chunk to you unit before the leadership starts going down the poop shoot.

Thanks for your answer :)

so it would seem from your answer that if i start with a unit of 30 clan rats and add the bell i would be fielding a unit which has 30 clan rat models and a screaming bell model so the unit now has a unit strength of 37 (30 clan rats , screaming bell at US6 and the Grey Seer at US1 =total US37) and a model count of 36 (bell and seer are the same model) is this how everyone plays the bell? is there a page reference which shows this? thanks

Pretty much yep, As for pages that represent that...well it's just normal Unit Strength your adding eh? It's all in the BRB (In other words I don't have the book with me right now and I'm too lazy to go and get it :D )

Shennanigans are out of the question!
One thing though.... The Bell has a US of 4 +1 for the Seer totaling 5 (pg 30 of Skaven Army Book), even though it does have 6 wounds. It counts as 6 rats for purposes of ranks, not for purposes of Unit Strength.

sweeeeeeet!!!!! thanks guys :)

On another note about the bell then. So this would mean that i need to have at least ten of the original clan rat models left for it to move at full speed rather than the six carrying the bell (bonus rats for buying the bell it seems) and four of the original rats?

just wanting to make sure i play this contraption right as i think it could be a real thorn in the side for some armies and i expect that i'll get asked a few questions from my regular opponents. thanks for your answers so far too :)

Yep, that's right! You need at least 10 physical original clanrats models surrounding it to push it.

Just making sure, however many clanrats you bought for the unit, that's how many you get. No bonus models, unfortunately! While the bell takes up the space of 6, those are just moved to the back of the unit until they're pushed up forward again.
