Shennanigans are out of the question!

Sounds like the way I play chess... I am totally oblivious to anything except my own plan, which makes me do things that screw with my opponent's plan even though I don't know I'm screwing with it. I have a friend who wont play with me anymore because of it, even though he beats me 3 of 5 times 8) -R |

"Nurgle has got to be my favorite chaos god, fluff wise... He's portrayed as this sort of jovial, jolly old guy who thinks that rotting apocolyptic plague is funny as hell... So basically he's a big ole fat bastard who thinks giving you a scorching case of the herp is a big laugh." ---Kadrium 7th Edition Fellblade Kills: 1 Steam Tank, 1 Warrior Priest, 4 Greatswords, 3 Treekin, 1 Chaos Sorcerer, 5 Chaos Warriors, 13th Spell Kills: 8 Chaos Chosen.

Daniel cannot possibly exist in a dimensional state. Recent studies show that people who have attempted to comprehend Daniel have either disappeared, died spontaneously, or driven themselves into a pertinent state of insanity and/or catatonia. <img src="http://www.heresy-online.net/daemons/adoptables/23041.gif" alt="Broken Adoptable Image" /><br><a href="http://www.heresy-online.net/daemons/levelup/23041-dark-whisper.htm" title="Level up this Daemon!">Level up Adoptable!</a>

Last Sunday I went to the local store and played a game (3 on 3 @ 1K/player). Coincidentally, two of my opponents started asking how far units from my "team" had moved, and then calculating how far they should move their units. I didn't say anything - including how far I'd moved my units, though my team-mates did - and just listened to them do the math and then watch them move their guys. I just found it funny that this came up so shortly after it was discussed in this thread. Incidentally, I had tried to be nice/sportsmanlike and offer them all the information regarding my unit of PCB's, but I was waved off. They apparently felt that knowing my WS, S and T was enough. Then I crushed a unit of 8 dryads in one turn, causing one of their generals to flee (I had over run into it). His Treeman was a bit tougher, though, and caused another unit of my PCB's to flee almost off the tables edge. |

Hi Skaven Blight, Come on and tell the truth. Tomb Kings get to fire their Screaming Skull Catapult twice a turn. First we fire the Catapult at a target and measure the distance. "Oops, I guessed it is 41 inches and it turns out after measuring it is 44 inches to the High Elf's 380 point Archmage's Head" A little later in the magic phase "Smiting" is cast on the Catapilt and the ranged is "GUESSED" 44 inches. VIOLA the hole in the template is exactly on the HE's archmage's head. Baring a misfire, that guy is road kill. As we say in the desert, "Go pound sand" Sandy Death |

lol, no, actually I very rarely shoot it twice a turn, either they have a scroll ready to dispel it, or my liche is off elsewhere making sure i get a magical charge in. I think I've ever only been ble to double shoot it twice, both times I dropped it on the same target's head, both times it scatterd off to inflict some firey doom on some poor unsuspecting rock. More recently though, 3 turns in a row (no double shots this game) I dropped the rock on te head of a dark elf sorceress on a cold one. Every time it scattered off of her, i ended up chasing her down with a unit of skeletons. |

It's been a long time since i've had a battle, but don't you, when marching a unit, have to never go within 8" of an enemy unit? How would you do this without measuring the distance between you and the enemy? James |

@Franky: Not quite, you are not allowed to march when within 8" of an enemy. If outside of 8" when you begin your turn, you are allowed to march towards them, as far as your movement will take you, provided that you stay at least 1" away. It's a big favourite with the Slaves who are redirecting and acting as speedbumps! @Skavenblight: *shudders* My main opponent is TK, and he's gotten regrettably wonderful at guessing distances like you mention, and the second shot with Smiting (when it gets through) really doesn't help the situation either! <_< The only solution I can think of is to stick the mages in units, and have them hold Clanrats above their heads (i.e pass the "lookout sir!" roll)

(though there was this one time that a shot scattered away from a target and dropped on a damsel's head, you should have seen the look on the players face :P).
