Hi Members, Maybe someone can help me out with this ruling. Situation: Its a 1000 point tournament game with my Skaven against Mortal Chaos. His Chaos Knights unit charges a small unit of Giant Rats (bait) and reduces it to 3 models. But, miraculously, the unit holds (double ones). Now on my following turn a unit of Clan Rats with full ranks and command flank attacks the Chaos Knights killing one. The Knights direct all their attacks at the 3 Giant Rats and wipe it out. I win command resolution by 3 and the Chaos Knight flee off the board. My Chaos opponent says my Clan Rat Unit (which is wildly celebrating) must take a leadership test because of the destroyed unit nearby. Question: Should the Clan Rats have to take a leadership test? Thanks Sandy Death |

The same clanrat unit that won the combat? No. Firstly, because units in close combat are immune to psychology. Secondly, because in order to cause the sort of panic test your friend is refering to, the unit has to be Unit Strength 5 or more at the start of the phase. As they were three in the start of combat, obviously this is not the case. Tell your friend you'll give him a rematch so he can stop moping over his chaos knights already.

What he said. Plus, if you put it into a realworld situation, why on earth would you be running away from the guy you just killed? It makes no logical sense whatsoever!Pillz |

Hi Mork, Yes, you are right and that is exactly what my position was during the discussion. The Clan Rats might feel a bit of sorrow that the 30 point (throw away) Giant Rats were dead but a great deal of exhileration that they forced 25% of the Chaos army to flee of the battlefield. BTW, with a LD=9 I passed the Psyche test but failed the restraining one and chased the Chaos Knights off the board. Sandy. |

Even more evidence that your opponent is a cheater or needs to read the rules properly, is the fact that unit of grats was under US5 when it was destroyed and therefor would not induce panic tests anyways.

Units which are in close combat are, immunte to psychology tests, the rule is like this. So if u are in a combat u wont take a test because of 5US or more destroy in Closecombat. |

Hi members, I just want to say that cheating or accusing someone of cheating is rather harsh and final. Mistakes are made, in fact I made quite a few against myself over the years. In this case neither of us remember about the unit strength 5 rule. So I consider it to be just an error and nothing more sinester. Sandy |
