My local store has a wizard battle on Saturday, November 24th which I want to attend. Basically, each player controls one wizard, any point limit, and fights in a large megabattle style arena, respawning at death, to gain the most kills in a set time limit. Last time, and so likely again, they had a rule so that any passing value was irresistable any any failure a miscast because dispelling would be fiendishly complex with multiple players. In this game, I was a Chaos Lord of Tzeentch and won handily with my 15" float speed, close combat, orange fire, and missles. My question for you is should I be this menace again or should I try a slann or grey seer (much less likely), keeping in mind they need painting. Your opinions please. |

The Mad Ratter.

Ah, the Tzeentchman - always going to win in a match like this, isn't he? Really, it's where he excels above all others! Go on, take the Grey Seer... You've already done the ub3r 1337 h4xx0ring associated with the Chaos lord, so this time just try to have some fun and win it the "underdog" way! Plus, a teleporting Grey Seer with Teneberous Cloak (keep him out of combat!) and other miscellanoius items should really live for quite some time, taking a few with him! |

take the grey seer if your lucky plague could cause some real chaos as i bounces from wizard to wizard <_< and warp lightning well enough said. it depends on what spells you get but sounds like fun though might suggest it at my store. |

Daniel cannot possibly exist in a dimensional state. Recent studies show that people who have attempted to comprehend Daniel have either disappeared, died spontaneously, or driven themselves into a pertinent state of insanity and/or catatonia. <img src="http://www.heresy-online.net/daemons/adoptables/23041.gif" alt="Broken Adoptable Image" /><br><a href="http://www.heresy-online.net/daemons/levelup/23041-dark-whisper.htm" title="Level up this Daemon!">Level up Adoptable!</a> | |

Quiet, I'm plotting.

if you want to be cheeky, what about a Blood Dragon or Strigoi? Technically they are both magic users, though they are geared more towards combat. But I would personally go with the Grey Seer. Those warpstone tokens might help you punch in a few extra spells, really tip the balance. |

Slann would be super magicy but if someone fighty gets close your in trouble. But if you go Grey Seer then that casting rule they got will make your Skitterleap spell amazingly powerful. Do it, embrace the Horned Rat

Hmm, a lot of support for the seer... on a skaven forumn. Surprising. You're right about the leap though. One point about the lord was that I don't play chaos so this somehting I did for a painting competition because he was my best at the time. Actually, all three are new because I justr started lizardmen, don't have a chaos force, and have obly used the seer a little it, though I have an army for him. Alos, I need to stick to models that I have so thats the above three, a highelf mage (unassembled and I lack the book), and woodelf mages. Last time, there was a strigoi played by the staff just to kill me and it was really powerful but mostly just an equalizer, though not overly devestating, because the lord outclassed what was brought. I would definately 'step down' the power if its just empire folk again but I might see a slann or the new elf lord on dragon! More suggestions are welcome, as well as gear. Gear thoughts: Tzeentchen: Disk, Shield, Halberd, staff of change, golden eye of tzeentch Seer: Not really certain. Perhaps Tenebrous cloak, storm daemon (1 bound spell per turn, irresistable though they may have done something here),Eye of the Horned rat, 2 tokens? Slann: No idea PS- Yeah, Bakfire its a blast. You should definately put in a suggestion. I mean, whats the worst that could happen? |

Oh, duh. I don't really use him and just pulled it off the top of my head. So, 45 pts for him (with tokens). Don't forget, we 'respawn' so buying them probably is unnecessary. |

Can you use special caracter first of all? I Guess not since you did'n talk about them. Otherwise a skitteleaping grey seerr can be a real trouble. You could give him the tenebrous cloak, a warpstone charm and the rest in warpstone token to get a super magic turn. Otherwise slaan will be a lot of fun if you ask me but he can't move as fast. If i was participating in something like that i would take a empire wizards with a pegasus and get lore of fire hoping for the flaming sword, all that just to kill wixard in close combat. If you want to be sneaky use an eshin wizard to skitterleapt in close combat. Or Give your grey seer the +2 attack weapon and bands of power (he will always get it) with this you shoud be able to kill pretty much anything. Finally, I hope somone play a shaggoth

LOl, the war kitted seer would certainly stand out. i think we can use special characters but we need the actual model, which I lack. I think the eshin wizard might be a bit lacking in sheer power. Overall, I hope (but don't know) that we can trade off so I can mix it up. What lores would rule for a slann? ps- thanks for the item suggestion. |

gear wise i would deffinately take the eye of the horned rat, you really need a ward save of some description.. poss twisted crown. you will have to check as i dont have my book to hand at the mo but can the seer take death globes? as these can be real fun, apart from that i would take an item that isnt likely to run out on you that way you have an extra punch you count on throughout the game. shame you dont have a lahmia vampire... innocence lost (so she strike before most high elves) seduction so if they fail leadership test all your attacks hit automatically and they cant attack back and then hand of dust... if you hit you kill... so her prey stands there helpless as she leans over plants a gentle kiss on their cheek and they drop down dead... |

Blood Dragon on a Zombie Dragon kitted out to the nines. If a Chaos Lord of Tzeentch can buy a disk then nothing stops you from buying a zombie dragon either. |

i wasnt going to mention the zombie dragon as it seems a little O.T.T for the wizard battle but i would still take my lahmia on a zombie dragon over a blood dragon... i prefer the 'haha you got beaten by a girl' taunt - ok she is a rather hard 300 year old girl who can rip you apart with her bare hands but still... anyway back to the grey seer who blatently is the best because he is skaven. oh one thing to watch out for would be the empire wizards with the pesky im gonna nick your spell from your mind and use it for the rest of the game casket - i hate it sooooo much! getting fried by my own warp lightning.... (where have those assassins gone?, i have a job for them) |

Mounts are legal. One of the staff at my store is convinced the title will go to high elf mage on dragon, but we'll see. I'm not sure if i'd have the points for globes- I'll check. ps- I'd say losing to a girl is better than to any common hero or a completely androgynous elf. |
