Animosity

Michael Duxbury, a Fanatic article author of some repute has contacted me with this message...

A few weeks ago, the nice folks over at "Da Warpath" forum (an Orc and Goblin Warhammer Fantasy community) began their second Animosity worldwide campaign. This has drawn players from all over the globe, and of all different armies, into the fun of festive wargaming frenzy.

However, this is much more than just a Warhammer campaign - we are also eager for players of Warmaster, Mordheim and Blood Bowl to join in the fun. What would be really great is if you could include the text below in your blog sometime, just so that more people are aware of what we're doing. We have around 110 players so far, but the more the merrier!

"The sun scorched lands of Araby have ever been a place of turmoil. Treason against the Sheikh of Araby has cast the land into a bloody conflict. At the heart of this lies a struggle for control of the Arabian Empire. Control of the prize within will decide the fate of the land, its people, and her allies....

As the forces of order rally to the palaces of Sheikh Tariq, the malevolent practioners of dark magic move to aid the rebellion of Caliph Haseem. Meanwhile the pirates of the coast take the opportunity pillage, plunder and topple the law of the land completely.

Looming over all, the ancient undead armies of the Tomb Kings rise to conquer lost lands, and two mighty Greenskin WAAAGHs descend upon the Kingdom of Sand hellbent to fight against any who would oppose their violent warpaths and reclaim the lands from the souless undead of the ancient kings!

The "Animosity 2: Sands of War" campaign is a worldwide Warhammer campaign, blending narrative, sneakiness and wargaming into an authentic and engaging setting. This is an opportunity to make your games played really mean something, and have a direct impact upon the fate of a nation. We are looking for Warmaster, Mordheim, Blood Bowl or, dare I say it, Warhammer players to join in the fun - we have around 110 members so far but we're looking for more. If you're interested, please visit our website at www.freewebs.com/animosity2campaign to find out more information. Good luck - we look forward to seeing you over there!"

Have a good weekend!

For now,
Andy @ Fanatic

Well, wasn't expecting that... Still a nice thought to see Fanatic (instead of the lads at Games Workshop) do promotion for webcommunities.

Wow.... that's rather... unexected.... yet more proof that Fanatic is infinitely superior to mainstream GW folks. :D

I guess it's more the issue of knowing who to poke...

Still, the fact that fan-based campaigns do get this kind of promotion/ recognition on the site of Specialist Games (quite likely for a reasonable amount due to the fact that games of Blood Bowl, Man 'o War, Mordheim and Warmaster being allowed as well) is something that makes me a happy gamer.

Although we all know the guys of Fanatic simply kick ass! ^_^
