i was asked recently by another skaven if i can keep a secret?... i have said i will think about it and tell him later. my thinking is that just listening to the secret could be hazardous to my health.. allthough depending on what it is i could gain a little bit of influence over him... but also it could prove valuable to the right person.

any thoughts?
Daniel cannot possibly exist in a dimensional state.

Recent studies show that people who have attempted to comprehend Daniel have either disappeared, died spontaneously, or driven themselves into a pertinent state of insanity and/or catatonia.

Usually, it's only life threatening if you tell others that you're keeping secrets, no? I mean, if no one but the person who told you the secret knows that you know, no one would bother with (killing/maiming/asking) you, right?

What kind of influence are you looking for? You will technically have "power" over the individual if the secret is just that great, but only if you betray their trust, and only Skaven and jerks do that. By keeping it a secret you gain the influence of trust over them, which is considerably less powerful, (since there's high likelyness that they'll do whatever they want, even if they listen to your advice) but it's a morally better thing to do.

Really, is there any reason to say that you can't keep a secret? You won't lose any standing in that person's eyes, and once you know what it is, you have so many more options than if you didn't! Plus, there's always the chance that the secret is something completely pointless (in your own opinion - like a fear of sock puppets) and then you gain their trust without having to do any work, since who really cares about that kind of thing anyways? It doesn't make for good blackmail.

All in all: Always say you can, because there's no good reason to say you can't.
