it has been raining an awful lot, and the news, what i've seen of it at least, is no longer on iraq and is now focussed on whatever town/village was last flooded

here in the midlands i've nothing to fear though, if it flooded here, then it'd mean that pretty much the rest of england was underwater anyhow. yay for birmingham inheriting capital-city-ity after london drowns :P

Lots and lots and lots of rain. Luckily it's mostly avoided my region. :P

But, yeah, fairly big problems. Random floodage, a few fatalities, and a lot of disruption (even, ironically, water ATM... ~10,000 people have been warned about possible contamination of their water supplies...)

Not great stuff.

Aw... I wish we had a good portion of that rain down here. It would help ease this more-or-less permanent drought that Australia has going on.
Instead we've actually had snow here. SNOW! Of all the places...

Though we were practically drowning here in Sydney last month. :P Two of my umbrellas fell victim to it.

Another 2 fatalities, a father and son died whilst pumping out a flooded Rugby Club. They may have been overcome by petrol fumes from the generator or eloctrocuted, too early to say yet - but very, very sad.

A few weeks back there was a poor guy stuck by his foot in a filling storm drain. They couldn't get him out after 3 hours and he finally died of hypothermia.

Officially this has been the wettest English summer since records began. I'm fortunate to be living in a place that has escaped the floods, but areas of the UK are still under water.

The flooding is terrible. Living in Norfolk, although we are getting a lot of rain - something like 2 monthd worth in 2 days at one point - we've been fine, although some flights were cancelled at Heathrow, displacing 140 ish people and causing a rampage on the day I went to fly out. So as BV mentioned, i went from flooding to a heatwave.

MAKE UP YOUR MIND, WORLD.
