Personally, i prefer either nurgle or khorne - but i dont know if i want my warband to be nurgle, khorne or undivided. Im leading towards nurgle, but i wonder what you think and why is the best? I mean in terms off fluff and background, and how cool they are. not how effective they are in games - i can see that by their special rules |

Slaanesh, easy. game wise no, being ITP is kinda cool because you don't mind panic tests. but if you lose 25% of your 12-15 chaz warriors your probably having a panic test of your own lol. if your undivided you basicly get the same gift, only it's not as reliable and you can still flee charges. but fluff wise and model wise slaanesh has to be the coolest. sure you got a God about killing. killings pretty cool, but everyone kills stuff. so you did it with an axe and shouted stuff about skulls and thrones. everyone shouts stuff about their God when they kill people. tbh khorne, you're a bit boring. then you have tzeentch. a God about knoledge. if you wanted a load of knowledge then you could just go to a library, i'm sure the empire has a bunch of books on almost everything. tzeentch has the best spell casters and can make those annoying 20 power dice armys, but other than that what do they really do? not much. nurgle is a god about lookin' butt ugly and stinkin' like shit. damn where do i sign up <_< . the daemons look like scuttlin' piles of crap (the tzeentchen horrors arn't any better tbh though lol). but that's what nurgles into. personally it doesn't float my boat at all. slaanesh is the God of pleasure. lookin' damn sexy, drugs, bondage. this is where it's at. you want to have a party so good that it'll go down in history? you get some slaaneshi on the case. orgies, whips and scantily chicks are the order of the day. look at the art work (i've re-drawn all the daemonette pic's in the HoC book because i think they're awesome) an you'll see how cool slaanesh followers look. slaanesh followers are a very select breed i'd imagine. i mean i like the look of a lass in thigh high leather boots and a corset. but some people prefer some mad bloke mouthin off with an axe in his hand. each to their own i suppose

Actually I like Khorne, and I know that of everyone I should be the one to go for Nurgle but gamewhise that's how I like to play (frenzied cookoo troops of doom!) Fluff wise though I'd go for Tzeentch, because Khorne's history is little more that gathering skulls and getting Blood for the Blood God. But yeah story wise I like Tzeentch because they most closely represent the hidden all knowing blackhanded deal making bit that I love about us Skaven. They say knowledge is power and it's what isn't written in the text books of libraries where the true power lies :ph43r: I just don't like them game wise because for being the be-all-end-all of magic they sure got some boring spells. Slaanesh comes in a close second play wise to Khorne but theirs some days where I think they'd be more fun to field. They've definently got the coolest history. As for Nurgle; I love the whole plague thing but I just don't like the way they play, and they've got virturally no backstory whatsoever. I mean, the largest plague to ever hit the Old World wasn't done by Nurgle and his cronies but us Pestilens! We make getter plague bearers then they ever would.

I think if you're thinking of playing with some Chaos that you should look beyond the simple question of Undivided/Khorne/Tzeentch/Nurgle/Slaanesh and also look at the question of Mortal/Daemon/Beasts, even mixing 2 or all 3. Just think, you have hard hitting mortal and daemons and then maneuverable and numerous beasts ambushing... not to mention that a Beastlord with the Mark of Tzeentch (level 4 wizard) is the same or less in pts cost as a Lvl 4 Mortal Sorceror ... despite having much better stats. |

Nurgle. When choosing my 2nd army, it was hard for me to choose between an all-nurgle army or an empire army. Empire won out in the end, but now I would probably have chosen the nurgle force. Of all the chaos gods, nurgle is the scariest IMO and commands the most respect of his opponents. Maybe I'll start up a nurgle force one day, but that'll be after my tau and after I figure out what the hell I want with the empire troops I still have lying around .Cheers, Bodacious. |

I'd say Khorne just strikes that "raving psychopath" chord in all of us. I imagine 50 chaos space marines charging the enemy, screaming like madmen and hacking apart the enemy, continuing to madly hit them until they're pretty much smacking a wet spot, and I'm like: "Man, these guys are awesome." MAIM! KILL! BURN! Come on, you can only like these guys. Nobody does the Evil Maniac Laugh (tm) as well as warriors of Khorne. |

I have different favourites for fluff/gaming/theme, so I voted undecided/vided. For 40k, I like my Undivided Iron Warriors. Plus other Undivided forces give the best variety in 40k armies... The same would probably go for Fantasy, with different Marks limiting available choices... For theme though I do like Khorne, hence my Khorne Orcs. I like the idea of having a huge force of choppyness charging at your opponent. It may not be the most effective, but I like the idea. I do agree with Cheiftan Cazgar though that Slaanesh is the best! He summed it up perfectly I think! They may not be the best models or gaming effectiveness, but theyre still awesome!! - Sammy |

The challenge with Khorne is not allowing opponents to bait your frenzied troops (hard to prevent). However, most people don't use their brains so these are often just "charge forward and kill" armies ...which makes for very boring gameplay. The challenges with Nurgle/Slaanesh are the same as with any army with very few elite models (less models than Undivided Chaos) The challenge with Tzeentch is controlling the magic phase. Obviously there are other challenges, but that is how these differ Most people do not go Nurgle as it is seen as the most difficult of the three to succeed with (especially if not going magical Nurgle) |

My favorite has to be Tzeench. I'm really into conspiracies, webs upon webs of intrigues and forbidden knowledge. That's fluff-wise ofcourse. In game I never like Tzeench. 20 power dice. Blast, blast. Yay. Fun. Second is tied between Slaneesh/Nurgle. Beauty and pleasure/butt-ugly immortality are all good Last is Khorne. They seem to be the least subtle of all forbidden cults in the empire (apart from cults of Nurgle, maybe, due to their grotesque form), and blood and skulls never appeal to me.......immortality, knowledge, and pleasure, however....... Game-wise I'll say Slaneesh, then Nurgle, then Tzeench, then Khorne. But overall I don't like the marks of a particular god that much. Prefer Undivided in this case. .....but in any case......... DESTROY THE CHAOS FILTH! SKAVEN ALL THE WAY!!! |
