Pretty cool models, but nothing really spectacular in my opinion... do you know if the trolls are plastic or metal? Plastic blackorcs for my bloodbowl team will be great tho

Yeah, I think this should probably be in the General Discussion area. However, I will comment (as I can't resist). The squigs have officially lost their cute, humorous appeal. This one got hit by the ugly-sculpt truck. The rider is okay. Black Orcs look mean. I wouldn't want to run up against them in a dark alley. Great sculpts. The troll looks... feline? The ears/eyes/nose look like a cat. Odd, nonetheless. |

i like the squig. Squigs have always been to cute for me. I mean, they are supposed to be vicious and scary not all cute, small, round and cuddley. Troll looks nice too. Odd thought i had today, since we are talking (looking??) at new takes on old ideas. Rat Ogres have always been described as a mutant cross breed of Ogres and Skaven. Now that the Ogres have their own unique look and feel, will that effect the new Rat Ogres? |

I REALLY like the Black Orcs! Im definately going to get a unit or 2 for my 'Ard Boyz when they are released! Brilliant! The Troll is also very impressive indeed. The Squig however... I dislike it with a passion. I mean it looks like it is melting. I dont care much though, Im too excited about the Black Orcs!! - Sammy |

new black orcs wow. strange how orcs and golbins get all these new units only a few months after their new book. Would have made sense either at the new book release or further off in the distance. Still, i like that troll... better than the current stone trolls IMO. not too kean on the squig but not becuse its 'ugly' - it looks very goblinish - but i think skarsnik was enough squigs, and that one in the b4sp set withe the huge eye (aw hes cute) |

Pulling away from the cartoony style I see. Noticeable feautures: Squigs-Beady eye. Tis abit of an ugly feller to be sure. Black Orcs- Noticeable lack of anything noticeably different from the last ones. They are Orcs with armour and still look like Orcs with armour. Cool paint scheme though. Troll-Thank the lord they actually made a version of the old new troll actually bearable for peoples eyes. I know trolls are meant to be ugly but sheesh that last one probably broke the half a statue it was holding just looking at it. Yes thats 2 list posts in a matter of hours. What is going on I do not know. Underlord Burrows |

The squig has a serious leg problem. It's just so badly sculpted I can't figure why the legs appear to be joined to the back of its head with no visible hip/thigh connection, the feet is a weird cross between hooves and table-legs, and it looks like it almost has a neck, but not. And I'm not sure how the rider fits on it. It's horrible, and that's before I even looked at the face. The Blorks look almost exactly like the metal ones. Brilliant for those who'd want to combine their old ones with the new ones. I can't decide on the troll. I kinda like it, but I still prefer the personality of the old ones, that this new one lacks. It does have a feline touch about its expression, and also it looks more sentient: it's got this, mundane brutish humanoid look with a touch of civilization about it (the weapon, the armour plate, the equipment on its belt, the trained warrior pose) that contrasts against the old comical vomitting monster. |

i agree the legs look a bit funny on the squig, it doesnt look quite right if you know what i mean. as for the troll i hope its plastic and like a kit with muiltiple parts, as if it is metal the pose is static youll have 3 identical trolls id normally rate somehting by if it makes me want to play that army (hehe) the black orcs and troll do just that, they would look nice on the board. as for that squig im not so keen |

Well, one thing's for sure, O&G really had their range a make-over... The B.Orks are neat, to say the least but I'm left wondering if it's not because of the paint scheme... The troll... well, I dunno... I really liked the old models of stone trolls... They had that not-so-bright look to the that struck the name "stupid" without even having to look at their special rules... The new one strike me more as "feral" or "brutish"... Dunno... It's a different look, guess we'll need to get used to it... The Squig... Okay, that one was ugly, guess why I kept it for last... As Scriv said, I thought that the legs were badly placed and missshapen, and the rider funnyly placed until I realised that it's a dynamic pose... Think about the way a squig move: IT BOUNCE... This one is propelling himself forward, it's leg fully, or maybe partway in extension, and the shock had the rider moving on his saddle... I guess that would also explain the squig lips problems... I'm usually quite found of dynamic posing but this one is odd, to say the least... I just hope the real thing will look better then this picture... |

I already mentioned this when the Battle of Skull Pass box was released, but the term "butt ugly" doesn't even come close to what I think of the new troll model. I mean, about one/ two years ago the bloodbowl troll got a complete revision and that one still had the (somewhat) comical look of the old troll, but at the same time a more realistic approach to how a troll looks like... This new troll for the O&G army is in my opinion too much a rip-off of the troll seen in the first LotR movie, though does partially remind me of those Vogons from the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy with its mashed nose. The squig is just odd... I don't know wether I have to love it or hate it, but I still did prefer the more comical look of the previous version. Greetz |

Watch the language, there! You might want to revise the blatant flaming, especially. This thread is for the discussion of the models, therefore those who don't like it are free to discuss their opinions about it. You should know as well as anyone that we accept all opinions as long as they are explained. It's like being in an art exhibition, just because you're not buying the painting doesn't mean you can't say why you don't like it. |
