Hi in the rules i can only see that greyseers can use skaven magic and warlock engineers can only use the warplightning spell. Is this right? I heard somewhere skaven can also use one of the other lores (i think it was shadow) or is that a lie? cheers

Skaven in the current edition can only use Skaven magic. Back when we used the Ravening Hordes booklet (when 6th edition just came out) Skaven had to use fire, shadow or death magic instead, iirc. Shadow magic rocked. I still like it almost better than Skaven magic. |

"I have a post-Armageddon vision. We and all other large animals are gone. Rodents emerge as the ultimate post-human scavengers. They gnaw their way through New York, London and Tokyo... within 5 million years, a whole range of new species replace the ones we know. Herds of giant grazing rats are stalked by sabre-toothed predatory rats. Given enough time, will a species of intelligent, cultivated rats emerge?" Richard Dawkins, The Ancestor's Tale | |

if you take ikit claw you get access to skaven magic, a 3D6 warplightning, and the 8 rule book lores. so, if you still want to use shadows (or death or whatever else takes your fancy) and have a spare 500ish points then you could always use him in a 2k game. |

Personnally skaven is the only lore i really like. It's still versatile with skitterleap and vermintide but alsmost every spell in hte lore as one use KILLING. Other lore, you usually get spell that does a lot of different thing, and only one of those usually actually worry your opponent and so it's easy to disepll. In the same vein, lore of fire and lore of deaht are pretty nice

You get access to some laws, but its not the 8 rulebook laws. Dark Emmisery Magic and the Dark Elf law is in there too. My favourite law is definately the Dark Elf law, because it has offensive spells, but also some very useful stuff like Word of Pain and Dominion. Word of Pain is definately a game winner, even more so than most offensive spells! Id most certainly take this law with Ikit. - Sammy |
