Rat laughter research

Have a look in the link above for evidence of rats 'laughing'.
Apparently they have a primal form of laughter, when playing. Younger rats tend to do this more when tickled as well.

Part of me likes this research, as it kind of makes rats more cute, but another part of me also thinks...............so mr researcher, you did that degree because? :P

Wish I could plot like you can, you must have a mind like a corkscrew to turn all those scheming corners

Yeah I knew this already :)
It rises the question once again if its morally correct to torture creatures that can laugh, play, and make friendships.

The answer is: No, it is not.

Here's an idea for another research project... whether rats laugh when watching high elves getting massacred by a group of slaves....

I agree, but is it right to torture any living thing?

Now I know I'm probebly gonna get a bit of backlash from saying this but...yes. In a way.
If theirs a living creature that has no nervous system to tell it if its getting hurt or not then I see no problem in 'tourturing' it for research because your not hurting it.

The noises have been detected before but were previously believed to signal distress, aggression, or sexual excitement.

Man, imagine the embassisment that would come from laughter during sex
